I wound up mostly using the glass bowl and it came with a plastic snap on lid which keeps the inside of the bowl clean when storing it. I love it. Looks great, has thick walks and good weight. Definitely recommend this for both aesthetics and functionality.

The bowl fitted right but it chipped in the first.

The lip chipped I the dust use. The handle chipped while washing in it and place it I the sink. We purchase or because we have a Baking school school and wanted to show how the different mixes look while being preparers but now it makes me nervous the bowl will shatter while we use it. Will not recommend for beginners or heavy use.

The original had a plastic ring that broke when trying to make cookies for Christmas!! We were crushed!! With the built in lock molded in the glass, we will not have to worry about that experience again! Thanks to best buy great price and availability!

My original one from a few years ago with my old mixer was sturdier, and the bottom was resistant to chipping. At least this one fits. I feel like I need to be extra careful with this bowl. I would actually rather go to ebay and buy the older sturdier version, if even to pay a little more.
