Finally SEGA releases 7th Dragon
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You should know if you are looking at this game that it's a battle system focused type of game instead of a story driven series. Yep, another JRPG type turn based dungeon crawler. The music is good but as a dungeon crawler type game the levels could use a bit more work. It's easier to pick up than an Etrian Odyssey game though if you are worried about the difficulty. The game also has an issue similar to the Shin Megami Tensei game where it takes a long while to ramp up. As long as you know what type of game this is and are fine with it it's recommended. I kind of wish Sega released the earlier DS, and two PSP games of the series in the US, I never imported those so I have no comparison to see what has evolved and improved in the series.

Great JRPG
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Where to start... well, it feels like a vintage game. Graphics aren't bad, as long as you don't hate chibi characters. The animations are great and they really have that impact of power. The storyline is interesting, but there are parts of the story that ruin what happens at the end, at least it was transparent for me. The team compositions are fun to play with as you build your team up and the difficulty of combat makes the game exciting for the first half of the game. The latter half of the game was almost a cake-walk thanks to certain classes and team compositions. I spent around 30 hours doing everything I possibly could, it was well worth my time and money.

Fun RPG for the 3DS!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If your looking for a fun RPG for the 3DS, then you should totally consider 7th Dragon. The game play is fun and the music is great. The story is lacking, but this game isn't trying to be an epic either. Its a fun and engaging RPG that is worth your time.

Your character can wear a Jet Set Radio shirt
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. That alone makes it perfect in my eyes. The game has some high quality music, so play with headphones plz. This game is a turn based dungeon crawler with random encounters; the encounter rate, movement speed, battle speed is all at a good pace, and the difficulty is fair for the most part. A good amount of characters and classes to create, from a guy in a Jet Set Radio shirt with other JSR inspired attire, to an assault butler, to maybe even your next waifu <3. This game clocks in at 40 hours which to me amounts to a long adventure, but I know some of you out there like games lasting over 100 hours, so ymmv.

This is a psp game.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nevermind the actual 7th dragon psp game, this is its sequel and.. it shows. I'm assuming the studio is small and doesn't have the budget to do 3D and the models are psp quality, which isn't nonsensical to say considering the original 3ds came out in 2011 and has similar specs to the psp. The problem is that it's 2016 and the lack of the studio's budget shows after multiple games on different hardware over the years. Enough with my graphical critique though. The game is a dungeon crawler with a barebones post-apocalyptic anime motif. The classes are very interesting though, the God Hand is a one-man army capable of crippling bosses while buffing themselves and countering enemy attack that also end up buffing them even more. The Duelist draws cards both selectively and at random to deal elemental damage and create traps for enemies, they even have moves that allow them to deal more damage based on how many cards they used. The Hacker can hack enemies during or at the start of battle to debuff, attack, or make the enemies attack eachother whilst healing the entire party. They can even hide to avoid damage altogether and counter all attacks made on the party with their own. The game even allows you to make a backup team that while, you cannot control simultaneous with the first, can buff your team even more when things get tough. They also level up with your main team, so grinding isn't an issue. Your characters get stronger stats with every level and get skill points to gain and boost new abilities that help make the battles easier. The primary antagonisst is the titular 7th dragon and his 200+ mini-dragons throughout the course of the games mythical history. Think of them as Etrian Oddyssey's FOEs, only that they die permanently and make the 7th dragon weaker with every defeat. The game's side quests aren't numerous and they aren't very interesting, bu they help create new facilities in your bases that unlock new features and equipment. Some of the characters are entertaining like the edgy, try-hard but sympathetic, not-rabbit, rabbit. Most of the cast isn't as entertaining and come off as unoriginal. In the end, the game wins in the gameplay area, but not much anywhere else.

Has not left my 3ds since purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is a greater example of an old school RPG with updated concepts. Combat is fun, dragon concept is different. The skills and job types are unique. I have about 40 hours in and just about at the end game. Will be sad to see it over. The weakest part is the story, which is usually a disappointment for me. However everything else is so good its rare that it makes up for the weak story.

SEGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The character creation customization is unique and great. You can customize any class and gender, as there is no gender limitations and the voices provide fun personalities to each you create. The art style for the characters are amazing and have a lot of depth and thought to it. I can never get tired of them. The prologue chapters let you create your very first team with up to three characters for the game simulation and yes, they're real people in your team when you recruit them into your team. They can be edited at any party management and the edits will be carried over to a new look and class, so it is limitless.

Pretty fun JRPG
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Things I'm enjoying about the game: - Great customization options, and a fun skill-unlocking system - Great music - Very animated battles - Quick pace, in terms of the story The game is a bit on the easy side, but it's not much of an issue when you're having so much fun.

What you expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a dungeon crawler in the japanese dungeon crawler style, where you create your own character, gameplay is great, but hope you aren't here for the story...

Sega's rare gem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hello, Sega is a very well known publisher but since they exited the console market their games beyond the Dreamcast, PS2 and part of the PS3 era have not been very good at all due to them being rushed to the market. Unfortunately, Sega has put their Dreamcast days behind them. However, this game showed me Sega still has some Dreamcast era development magic left due to this game. The game isn't much to look at but it is a great rpg that should be in your collection along with Bravely Default and several others in the 3DS library (the game is a rare Sega gem because it's quality overcomes the visuals). I suggest rpg fans and 3DS collectors grab this because it might be rare in the future and it's a good game, especially if you're looking for another unique rpg. Best,

Sega's 3DS Masterpiece
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I didn't expect to love this RPG as much as I did. Firstly, I played a translated version of the original on the DS, and while I did enjoy it a good amount, I didn't love it. Secondly, this game doesn't use the 3D effect, so while the graphics are 3D, the game is 2D. But the story, combat, and especially the combat, are top notch.

Great Dungeron RPG
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is amazing and battles are addictive. I really like the fact that when you attack enemies you actually get to see your characters unlike most other D-RPGs. The story isn't gonna win any awards but it gets the job done. The music is also very good with a variety of vocal tracks. Overall its an amazing game for the 3ds

7th Dragon Code 3 for 3DS
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very fun game. (The only bummer is it wasn't in 3D-I'm a fan of the 3D). I would agree with the reviews that give the game an 8 of 10. It starts off slow but gets better. There are a lot of Dragon battles (hence the name.) Overall great game with excellent graphics and the environments look beautiful.

Great Pick up & go RPG!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The quality of this game is a 9 out of 10. Everything from story line, Game Play, controls and Graphics are top shelf. A real blast to play. I highly recommend this gem of a game, if you are still lucky enough to find it on the shelf.

A JRPG that won't disappoint
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Never really turned on my 3DS for third party developed games, this is one of the few exceptions. Character customization, art style, music, dual audios, and the story were all solid.

Great story line and interaction with NPCs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The story was easy to follow and unfolded quite nicely. While the graphics could have been clearer in showing the differences between gender, the game made up for that with fun quests that allow you to get more of a feel of what personality the NPCs had as well as how their backstory affected it. I also liked the choices you got to respond to what the NPCs said, be it an insult, challenge, or compliment. Most of them expressed (however vaguely) what I was feeling at the moment and some were just plain funny. Overall, I would say that this game is ideal for both beginners and experienced players.
