I went on the recommendation of a colleague who had just bought the previous ASUS model and told me to wait for this model. I am glad I did. Installation was so easy that I was worried I had done something wrong. But the treat was on how much my download speed increased from around 20 Mb/s to almost 60! I have it for about a month and have not experienced a single drop on none of the devices connected to it. Very happy with my purchase. It is pricey, but so far worth every penny!

Love this router easy set up and exceptional reception. Strong fast signal to a hold family of handheld devices and gaming consoles. Best router worth the money if u want quality performance in a router

Very simple to set up. Easy to understand interface. Reaches the far corners of the house and beyond. Very fast for gamers and streaming HD videos. Absolutely Love it! Well worth the money.

Bought this to replace my old one because we were using many more devices on line. This has really helped with single strength, no more lag when playing video games and my down loads seem to be faster, great product.

This is a great router! It is packed with alot of features I have yet to begin to play with. I picked this up from best buy it is no different then the RT-AC68U they the same. I love the increased speeds I am now able to get through wireless and LAN. No more bottle necking through the fios router since this is directly connected to the ONT. Only issue is the firmware updater does not work. It says its up to date but most likely it's not. Check ASUS for current Firmware and use manual update. For a really nice custom firmware check out http://www.lostrealm.ca/tower/node. He has also helped to improve ASUS Firmware.

This thing was up and running WITH the GUI in less than 10 minutes. Speed, connectivity and appearance are fantastic and I have to say, after using a top shelf Belkin and Netgear without external antennas, it is so nice to see a decent wi fi signal strength. HOWEVER, unlike the simple, straightforward interface on the Netgear, the Asus GUI will not access via the address provided in the user manual. I suppose I'm going to have to go back to the basic setup again with the hardwire to get the GUI. Other than that little issue, quite satisfied.

very powerful router. Able to stream 2-3 programs at once. Signal is very strong and reaches outside as well. a little pricey but worth every penny.

I was hesitant to spend over $200 on a wireless router. One of the IT guys at my work had the older version and told me how awesome it was. I decided what the heck and made the purchase. After hooking it up, it took less than 15 minutes to get up and running. I was amazed at the increase in download and upload speeds, as well as the range as compared to the Motorola Modem/Router I had received from Verizon (Fios). I would recommend this router to anyone who is looking for increased performance or range.

This device lets me get the maximum benefit from my new ASUS top of the line AC router. I have a 2 year old desktop computer that could not connect on the 5 Ghz channel of my router. This device has fixed that problem and lets me get download and upload speeds equal to that of my other desktop computer connected directly to the router. This worked out of the box for Windows 7 -- just run the cd first.

Purchased this wireless router for our business almost 2 years ago. It has been great, and given us no problems.

Works great ! Use Merlin firmware. I would like to have more flexible parents tuning.

This router was an upgrade from a 802.11n router I had previously. The move to 802.11ac was nice but the overall signal strength made the purchase worthwhile. Configuring the router was relatively easy and having some advanced features such as guest accounts is great. With a mix of wireless N and AC devices currently, I felt this was a good purchase to futureproof.

This is an excellent product. I replaced a Linksys Top of the Line Wireless Router that simply died after 10 months. I did not have whole house coverage with the Linksys, This ASUS Wireless Router provides full coverage in our 3,600 square foot home and even in our bonus room which is above the garage. We are very happy and have had as many as 9 devices running at one time without degradation of service. I would highly recommend this for your home.

Asus AC 68 has indeed extended our range and has strengthened signal in our home of cinder block walls. Bandwidth increase from cable company translated into less buffering once we connected the new router. We are really happy with the results and stream movies over the wifi as well as connect more than 5 devices. Only negatives are known - most devices are not AC yet, dual band benefits from devices capable of picking up 5Ghz.

Great router that is at the top of its game in features, ease of use, and unfortunately price.

No problems with the setup. I was sure to place it in the least obstructed part of the house. There is an apartment building next door with 11 wireless routers. The Asus was powerful enough to cut through the overlap and maintain a good lock on our channel.

This is a great higher end router. I get great coverage in the house and it plays well with my Comcast blast service. It walks you through the set up making set up very easy. I'd recommend this router to anyone looking for a higher end router.

GUI is intuitive. Allow connection to a second WAN for redundancy, Reliable, running 6 weeks since installation without a single reset. Wifi range is excellent and fast. Consistent 57M speed with Time Warner Extreme service. This is used with the Motorola SB6141 cable modem. This is a terrific combination and well rated by The Wirecutter and CNET. Buy it!

I was having daily problems with my WIFI (XFINITY built in modem/router) and I got this after replacing the XFINITY modem 3 times. I finally called XFINITY and asked them to turn off my WIFI and turned on the Asus modem, and for the past month I had no drop in signal, no fluctuation in speed and instant connect. I have 15 devices running on this router.

This router sets up fast, has many user options, and works quite well. I love having the dual band availability. My router is set up on one end of the home, and signal is strong even all the way at the other end of the home. I have only two minor gripes. First, during the initial setup, you have to log into the router to get to the various settings. This requires a password that is mentioned NOWHERE in the manual. I had to get to the internet (via my phone) and search for their generic startup password. It wasn't hard to find, but it was inconvenient. Second, is the orientation of the router itself. The vertical orientation is nice because it leaves a smaller footprint, but there is no way to lay it down if you wanted to make it a little less obvious in the space. There is also no provision to mount it to a wall or desk. Otherwise - great router. So much better than my last Cisco router. I'll stick with Asus.
