Great Router for large usage
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The router was very easy to set up. The unit is running 21 items in a large home. Smart TV's, Games, Cell Phones, 3 Foscams, ect, ect, ect... You get the point. Range is very good, I am able to retain service at the net door neighbors at appx 150 ft. Have yet to try it at a greater range. Over all I am very happy with the unit. As they say, you get what you pay for. And you will pay, the only downside is the price.

Excellent product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just buy this router probably one of the finest on the market right now. My only issue is that some times the usb port stalls and I have to disconnect the hard drive and reconnect it. Printer works fine. Router is fast and all its features work well simultaneously. Strong single with great distance. Tried 5 other router before this due to price and local availability but finally bought this and glad I spent a little extra. Blows the others away in terms of performance and features that work consistently.

Great Router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hesitant to spend over $200 on a wireless router. One of the IT guys at my work had the older version and told me how awesome it was. I decided what the heck and made the purchase. After hooking it up, it took less than 15 minutes to get up and running. I was amazed at the increase in download and upload speeds, as well as the range as compared to the Motorola Modem/Router I had received from Verizon (Fios). I would recommend this router to anyone who is looking for increased performance or range.

Great Router for the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fast speed and great connection. Easy to setup like most other routers and had few/small problems if any. I had a small lag with gaming at first but I rebooted it and worked fine ever since. This is a great router supporting all our home devices, about 10 to 12. Including gaming multiple devices and video streaming. Highly recommend over the netgear nighthawk router that had big problems.

great boost for gamers
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PRO: Easy to setup and use to configure. If you are using the 5.0 Ghz. it is very fast and reliable connection. If you have a fast internet already it will boost the connection about 10 to 15%, well that is what it did for me any ways. Overall this is a great for streaming for the Nvidia shield no lag or anything. Flawless just a great product.

Awesome router with great range and speed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a ps4, ps3, smart tv, 2 smart blu ray players, 2 desktops, about 4 laptops and 3 ipads and 4 iphones on the wireless and they all are super fast and the range is incredible also. I can be in my neighbors yard and get my signal. Love this router.

Well worth the extra money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router is well worth the money. I had a combo router and cable modem in the past. It had no range and didn’t allow me to VPN into work. I replaced it with a separate cable modem and this router. This router is future proof. It has many advanced settings. Most of them you probably won’t need in a home setting but are easy to understand and I had no issue setting the router up in a short amount of time. The range is incredible. I only have a 1300 square foot house and in no place do I not get a full signal. I even get a signal way out in my yard. I highly recommend you buy this router and skip the cheap stuff. You’ll not regret it.

Awesome with reservation
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing was up and running WITH the GUI in less than 10 minutes. Speed, connectivity and appearance are fantastic and I have to say, after using a top shelf Belkin and Netgear without external antennas, it is so nice to see a decent wi fi signal strength. HOWEVER, unlike the simple, straightforward interface on the Netgear, the Asus GUI will not access via the address provided in the user manual. I suppose I'm going to have to go back to the basic setup again with the hardwire to get the GUI. Other than that little issue, quite satisfied.

Q: QuestionWhats the difference between the 2.4GHZ and the 5GHZ?
Asked by JIMWELL.
- A:Answer The primary difference between the 2.4 GHz and 5GHz wireless frequencies is range as the 2.4GHz frequency is able to reach farther than the 5GHz frequency. This is a result of the basic characteristics that waves attenuate much faster at higher frequencies. So if you are more concerned with the coverage, you should select 2.4GHz rather than 5GHz. 5GHz is better suited to apartment blocks which are likely to have a greater amount of network interference.

Q: QuestionConnecting External Coax Antenna Cable to ASUS RT-AC68R antenna mini-connectorI have a rooftop antenna that beams signal all over our property. It is connected to a standard coax cable. The antenna connectors on the router are what I would call mini-coax connectors - not full size. Is there any connector to buy that converts a full size coax connector to this mini size connector so I can use my outside antenna with this router? Are all newer routers this smallish connector instead of the standard size that I have used in the past? Thanks so much.
Asked by portolan.
- A:Answer Well, if there is available coax converter in the stores you can purchase one. Not all of the newer routers have this smallish coax.
