the best "A Christmas Carol" film. Watched it once years ago, and it is time to own it and watch it annually.

Love this disc. Unfortunately, it does not have the colorized version.

One of my all time classic movies. Good movie to show the spirit of Christmas.

The movie was enjoyable. It lacked all the high tech of today which is a good thing. Still prefer Alistair Sim, George C. Scott, or even the Muppets (though their DVD dropped a song).

Waste of my money. I would have enjoyed this DVD in black and white like the tape I have of this beloved classic. Save your money.

This version of Charles Dickens' classic tale is by far the best. I personally recommend the previous dvd incarnation over this particular dvd due to the new-high def restoration. For some reason, I have found that many recent high-def restorations of old black & white films turn out rather poorly due to overlighting the film element in order to bring out definition, and in doing so, ruins the original intended cinematography. However, don't let the high-def restoration deter you from buying this masterpiece if you don't have it already. Also beware the incorrectly altered widescreen version available on this disc (this film was originally shot and shown in theaters with a 1.37:1 full-screen aspect ratio, and a theatrically incorrect widescreen version has been included here to cater to fans of the widescreen format.).

For years I have scanned cable to view my favourite version of The Christmas Carol. I saw everyone except this one which we watched growing up every Christmas eve.The Bluray captures my memory of this film perfectly. I enjoyed the extras about the cast and directors. I would recommend this product to anyone who enjoys this version of The Christmas Carol.

A Christmas carol is one of my favorite Christmas movies. Of all the remakes, this 1951 version with Alastair Sim is the best..The blu ray quality is phenomenal and the Dolby 5.1 is pretty good..Excellent movie. Excellent quality and excellent price..9.99 in the store...If you like this movie this version is worth getting as it also includes a DVD copy..

This is the best version of Scrooge/A Christmas Carol - BAR NONE! I know this sentiment is echoed by many, so if you have not seen Alistair Sim in action, do yourself a favor and grab this version. You WILL NOT be disappointed!!!

This movie has always been my favorite version of a Christmas Carol. Alastair Simms is the best Scrooge in my opinion. I am old fashion at heart and like original B&W classics.

My all time favorite X-mas movie. The acting is better than earlier and later versions. The TCM Christmas Carol 1938 can not hold a candle to this version. The Brits are best at these period pieces is true.
