very good version of scrooge! interesting because it starts just like the books is written, in fact this might be the only version that does open up the way this does!

A classic Christmas movie and a great value on blu ray at $14.99; what's Christmas without reminding ourselves the true meaning of Christmas.

I would love to have purchased the Patrick Stewart edition, but this is the one I actually grew up with, so nostalgia is good too! A must have for the Christmas season so you don't have to try to catch the one on your tv provider (and no commercials to hassle with!)

I first saw this TV movie on television way back in 1984. There have been so many versions of the Charles Dickens classic over the years, but this one stands out. George C. Scott does a great job of playing Scrooge, and even has a decent English accent. The best thing about this film is that while it points out that inequality existed then, it still does. A change of heart makes all the difference in the world!

GREAT CLASSIC WITH THE BEST ACTOR FOR THE PART! THE ACTION AND LOCATIONS ARE PERFECT FOR THE PERIOD. THE SUPPORTING CAST IS ONE OF THE BEST I HAVE SEEN. I COLLECT MANY OF THE CLASSICS FROM 1920 TO CURRENT. I'M HAPPY WITH THIS ONE. NO BAH HUMBUG!

It's a family favorite and tradition to watch this movie. Memorable and valuable lessons learned from watching a holiday classic. K definitely recommend it adding it to your collection for holiday watching.

Very good acting especially from George C Scott, but the special effects were weak even for time period. Video transfer looked nice and sharp

Of the many Christmas Carol movies, this is the best one and the performance by George C. Scott is magnificent. An exceptional supporting cast and imagery make this a must buy.

Always good to have a christmas movie for children and adult to see during the time of gathering and acknowledging the month of December. The sharing and forgiving!

I loved how Ebenezer Scrooge finally gets the Christmas Spirit. I love Christmas myself and I loved how he started to understand the true meaning of Christmas.

Not too shabby of yet another adaptation of Dicken's A Christmas Carol. Some interesting takes on the 3 Spirits and eerie cinematography. George C. Scott is great as Scrooge! Other cast members include Susannah York, David Warner, Frank Finlay, Roger Rees and Edward Woodward.

This movie is a classic! I'm glad to have it in my library.

Watch this EVERY YEAR with my kids (20 years now) and we love this story and book. I think George C Scott plays the BEST Scrooge! A Truly MUST SEE SHOW!

This is by far, the best Christmas rendition on A Christmas Carol, the cast has been the best choice for the movie, an absolute classic!

A Christmas Carol is the favorite movie of my wife. We have to see it every year by one form or other. This version is the best one, in our opinion.

It is not Christmas until I have viewed this movie. I had not seen it his season. So now I have my own copy and view when ever I like.

We have seen this movie before several times on DVD however this Blu-ray version is even better with improved picture quality.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for a family member. George C Scott as Ebenezer Scrooge is excellent. One of the better versions of A Christmas Carol. I'd also recommend the Alastair Simm version as well.

This movie will surely get you in the spirit of the season. A true holiday favorite.
