A Dog Day Afternoon is a classic film for the ages

I love this movie and purchased this 40th anniversary edition because it was advertised as having digital copy/ultraviolet. However, there was no insert with the ultraviolet code.

I bought this movie at a bargain price. I was already familiar with it ,and decided to add it to my collection. It is based on a true story. "DOG DAY AFTERNOON" features a young Al Pacino as "Sonny" and John Cazale as "Sal." John Cazale was an amazing actor, who's career was cut way too short by his untimely death. This is a story about a bank robbery that took place in Brooklyn on a hot summer afternoon (Hence the Title)and should have taken about ten minutes but went awry, and became a big play with the bad guys becoming the stars of the show. You actually begin to like these guys as they hold the police at bay and try to negotiate their way out of this mess. Citizens of New York Cheered them on in front of the police and the News Cameras! After I watched this movie again (after so many years) I jumped on my computer to see what happened to the real life characters up to date!

I remember accidentally discovering this movie when I was younger, and I was instantly hooked. The acting is top-notch....Pacino at his manic best. The late great John Cazale is both sympathetic and menacing. It looks SPECTACULAR on Blu.

Sidney Lumet and Al Pacino strike gold on this classic true story of a man with no plans, just a whole lot of stress and nagging loved ones who need money. Very funny and an ending that will blow you away.

Al Pacino at his finest!!! Enough said! A must see movie and one that only gets better with age. Especially with all the c**p that Hollywood has been churning out lately.

The movie has aged well and is recommended viewing for all cinema lovers. The film is 38 years old and has a surprisingly excellent transfer.

Great addition for a movie buffs collection. It's an older movie and if you haven't seen it get it now.
