Good movie for animal lovers... a story of a dog’s multiple journeys through life as it helps people.

It was definitely a cute movie. Didn’t cry like I thought I would, and it’s a really sweet story.

I couldn't wait for this movie to come out in the theater when I saw the preview in a theater. It has to be the best story about the life of one dog who starts out life in one dog and after he is born again in other dogs. The experiences he goes thru are very real and different with the owners or pack leader. I laughed and cried thru some parts of the stories. I loved the ending and won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it or know it. For those who are dog lovers this is a must to see and own in your library.

Each scenes prospective is that of the dog’s view of things. It’s a dog’s world and you just don’t know it. The film for its entirety is tied together with a pleasant story-line and an easy melodious sound-track. In a word – it is an enjoyable family view

A REALLY HEARTWARMING MOVIE ABOUT RELATIONSHIPS AND HOW THEY EFFECT US.

A great storyline, a nice movie, I like it and recommend it.

Soulful, maybe, Surprising, no. I have raised, loved and had life changing experiences with 4 different breeds of dogs, a couple of these breeds more than once. These animals are loved and cared for by humans. They look at you with a true wish to be loved and petted. I think that someone who owns a dog but doesn't quite understand why folks like us love, and I mean love, our animals so much, should watch this movie. It might just answer a few questions your animal has about you!

If you've heard ANYTHING but praise for this film, don't believe it........this is a gem, for EVERYONE to enjoy. My family watched this, and we loved it from title to end credits. If you're a dog lover, this is a must see, and a fond wave from the "Rainbow Bridge", where we'll reunite one day with these friends. There's plenty of human story here too, and some scenes we can all relate to; life is a long voyage, films like this give it a new lighthouse! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Bought this movie as soon as it was available on DVD. Wanted to see it in the theaters, but never had the time. This movie received mixed reviews, but I think this movie is fantastic! The whole family loved this movie! If you are an animal lover then you will love this movie, and if you aren't an animal lover, it will turn you into one! I highly recommend this movie! Great family entertainment.

"A Dog's Purpose" follows the reincarnated lives of a loyal dog who is on a mission to teach mankind about love. He develops a unique bond with a boy named "Ethan" and revisits his life whenever he is in need of guidance. During this process, the canine discovers his own true meaning of existence. Thought provoking with many heartfelt moments throughout that any dog lover will appreciate.

Great dog movies are few and far between and A Dog's Purpose tells a compelling story about the life of a dog and their purpose in this world. A great movie for any dog lover and a good watch for anyone else. A Dog's Purpose manages to pull at the heartstrings and make you smile all at once.

Great family movie, especially for dog owners. We bought it for a long trip for the kids to see and now watch it every couple of months with the whole family. There are some discretionary scenes for younger viewers but nothing too graphic. Good story and good acting.

Saw the movie when it was out...Laughed, cried, ooh and awwed but if you have a pet, not just a dog it makes you wonder. Especially since sometimes pets seem to find us and gravitate to one person or things along those lines. It really is a good lighthearted movie. I have a few of my animal favorite movies...this is definitely one of them.

This is probably the first movie I've seen with any involvement by Josh Gad that didn't annoy me. He essentially narrates the entire film from the viewpoint of the multiple dogs he characterizes. It's a funny, touching and interesting film that will evoke some emotion for any and all dog lovers out there. It's a very good piece of film.
