ELIA KAZAN'S "A FACE IN THE CROWD" HITS THE TARGET

Kazan's dark tragi-comedy is a searing look at how the media can create heroes out of nobodies. Although a look into the future, Kazan's tale of a media hero who is shallow, selfish, power hungry and totally uncaring. Seems Kazan was looking at the 21st Century. Powerful performances and a face-to-face look at social squalor makes this classic film reality all over again.

Superb Cinema
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Rarely aired on television, this from 1957 has always been an extremely entertaining film with Andy Griffith in his film debut absolutely superb! Not sure how this could be made any better. Great script. Directed by Elia Kazan. Highly recommend seeing this film if not finding it on TV, then surely pick up copy of this gem from Criterion.
