Customers commend the Chromebook Spin 713's impressive screen, long battery life, and lightweight design, finding it easy to use. However, some users reported issues with the speakers, noting subpar sound quality and occasional noise. A few also mentioned concerns about fan noise and the trackpad's performance. While some found the price high, others felt it was justified by the device's features.

Over the last 2 years, I've become a big fan of Chromebooks. With the Acer Spin 713 I finally sprung for a higher performance machine. It has not disappointed. Very fast, excellent screen, nice keyboard, good selection of ports. An all around great device.

Killer. Beautiful display, responsive screen, track pad isn’t the best, but it’s certainly not the worst. Device as a whole is a little bit heavy to use as a tablet, however; the pro here is that its durable and sturdy, and definitely able to tolerate a drop or two.

Excellent Chromebook!
If you are like me & almost always keep it plugged in then there is no battery issue to worry about. If you also plug in external speakers then the low volume sound is also nothing to worry about. Everything else about this model is incredible! It wouldn't surprise me if it ends up being the best overall chromebook of 2021 in terms of best bang for the buck. As of 7/3 the Acer Spin 713 is one of the very best chromebooks you can buy at any price range.
I use the VitalASC - EPL-002A Active Digital Pen for my Stylus. It is awesome & works 100% perfectly!

Needed it for school but ended up not able to use it. Since it's a cromebook and not a laptop the OS is different and couldn't use programs inneeded it for. Other than that it's a great little tablet

This laptop has much better and detailed reviews from other parties than I could ever give. All I know is I like it. The computer is fast thanks to a core i5 chip. It’s a good size and weight. Like I said, read the detailed reviews.

A Good Purchase For A Descent Machine

Nice little computer. I've been using PC's over 30 years. I've tried Mac and the Netbook back in the day.
The primary reason I purchased the Chromebook was security. This was the same reason I purchased the Mac and Netbook decades ago.
My takeaways after a week of using. Not blazing speed that I imagined based upon all the reviews I read from the experts and users. In the same breath, my personal and work laptops have no less than 32 GB or RAM, so it may be impressive for the specs.
The Chromebook feels like a quality built machine, not quite at the level of my ThinkPad, but a tad better than the Surface Pro I used from 2014-2018.
I would not purchase this Chromebook for reading. I would elect for one with a detachable keyboard. I don't like feeling the keyboard on my lap or in my hand when holding it like a book and reading.
I can't say anything one way or the other for the Chromebook. It's just a question of what you want to use the machine for.
I am surprised that 43 GB of storage is being used. It's not an issue for this Chromebook, but if you are thinking of purchasing one with 64 GB of storage, you definitely will want one with a micro SD card slot.
My primary use for this Chromebook will be to surf the net and store my music and photos. I will probably buy another Chromebook with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage and use it just to make online purchases, online banking, etc. taking advantage of the Chrome OS security.
Lastly, If not for the security of the OS, I would stick with a PC, just because I am more familiar with the Windows OS, but it does get tiresome of having to constantly install and maintain antivirus software and thinking twice before visiting websites when running the Windows OS.

It Was Time to Switch!

No product is perfect, but for the promotional price of $499, this deserves more than 5 stars in all areas! Even at the regular price this holds its own, as numerous reviews show.
Why did I buy this? to replace my Samsung Tab S7 Plus! Yes the Chromebook has a bit more bulk, but wow! there is no going back for me! The Acer Spin 713 has it all. I can walk away from home with this Chromebook and not miss anything I need from my Windows desktop machine.
What ultimately made the decision for me? The Chrome OS has matured enough and machines like this provide the rest. I now feel safe making the switch. Hope this helps. Thanks

This honestly is very hard to give a rating on. Overall I like more about it than I don't like, but this is definitely a case of the things that it does well, it does really well, the things it does poorly, it does really poorly.
For what it does well-
-Battery life. I've gone a full week without having to recharge it and I do use it fairly frequently.
- Light weight. This thing weighs barely more than a tablet.
- Fast start up. Google likes to boast about how Chromebooks will boot up in seconds and they really do.
- The keyboard. I absolutely love this keyboard, it is one of the most comfortable laptop keyboards that I have ever used.
- The screen. Bright, crisp, gorgeous.
Where it doesn't do well-
-App compatibility. I understand that Android and ChromeOS aren't the same operating system, but you would think that most apps that are compatible with one would work on the other, especially when ChromeOS comes with the Google Play store. Sadly, that isn't the case. Office365 works perfectly on my Android tablet but won't even launch on this Chromebook (fortunately it still works using the Office365 website as an online service).
- Menu button where the caps lock key should be. Yes, I know that earlier I said that this was the best laptop keyboard that I've ever used, and I stand by that, but what the heck is going on with having a menu button where the caps lock key normally goes.
- The "camera phone" problem. Remember back in the day how a camera phone was promised as a great camera and a great phone and it turned out that it really was neither. This has a bit of that problem. It falls short as a laptop due to app compatibility issues and it falls short as a tablet due to the extra weight and awkwardness of having to hold it with the keyboard flipped around on the back.
Overall, I definitely recommend it. The advantages outweigh the shortcomings, but you definitely need to be aware of the shortcomings. I really hope that Google is able to improve ChromeOS to have better app compatibility, because if all I had to complain about was how it is a little awkward to use with the keyboard flipped around to the back and the menu button, this would be a five star review.

This chromebook laptop is awesome! I remind myself the it is as compact as it is with a 13.5" diagonal screen. The 11th gen Intel i5 Tiger Lake processor is nimble and fast. All the latest technology is included and it is Intel EVO approved. The Thunderbolt 4 with 2 USB type-C ports offer fast charging and battery life is easily 10 hours for my usage. The keyboard is the perfect size for me with just the right amount of touch and distance. I love the the overall size is just 11.8 x 0.66 x 9.3 inches. At 3 pounds, the weight is well balanced and does not feel heavy. It is well built and looks and feels like a premium build. I have never heard the fan even though I use this throughout the day and into the evening. This laptop has all the bells and whistles that I need though some reviews note that a fingerprint reader and USI pen included should be part of the package. 2K IPS Vertiview Screen resolution of 2256 x 1504 offers crisp and clean lines and wide viewing angles with little or no washout from the sides. Colors are bright and true. The 3:2 aspect screen is great for reading articles with less scrolling. The touch screen is responsive to light touch and scroll bar works well. Track pad takes some getting used to, but I have had no issues with it. Overall, I would purchase this model again. Hats off to Acer for producing a well built premium laptop at a fair price point. I was able to purchase this during a sale so it was even more of a bargain for me.

Beautiful display, great performance, decent battery life. The 3:2 aspect ratio was appreciated as well. However, I do wish the Chromebook was a bit lighter as it seemed a bit heavy. The keyboard was also a bit hard to read as the backlight and key color were very similarly colored. Overall though, one of the best Chromebooks you can buy.

This is a really nice Chromebook The screen is large and easy to look at the illuminated keyboard is a very welcome and very necessary addition to this Chromebook But it needs a few changes from Acer starting with the battery I have never been a fan of Acer's battery time or the way it acts on any of there lap tops and now Chromebook ...After it is fully charged It flip flops from 14 hours to 3 hours and then back up to 14 hours etc.... Next I'd like to be able to change my on-screen keyboard theme to make it darker as the white keyboad can give you eye strain NO virtual keyboard theme something I find necessary for me does that make any kind of sense ? Acer get a grip and update and upgrade your products .......No this does not have all the bells and whistles at this price very disappointed.

This is a very high quality Chromebook. I would have given it 5 stars if there was an option to get an i7 with 16GB RAM. But those are hard to come by these days due to the chip shortage. But overall, is a great performer with good battery life. Love the Gorilla Glass. If you are in the market for a Chromebook, this is perfect. Excellent price point

This is my first Chromebook and I absolutely love it! I'm coming from a high end Lenovo that cost triple the price and I still am very happy with it. Chrome OS is just the best possible OS for browsing and daily tasks. It loads instantly, turns on instantly, and flys through web browsing better than any PC i've used. If you need MS Office, you can still use office 365 online at it works great.
Battery life is good, build quality is good, specs are great! Also love the 3:2 aspect ratio. It's better for most tasks then 16:9 which takes up a lot of physical space but leaves empty space on the screen. Makes this 13.5" feel larger than it is, yet still compact physically.
Only downside is the speaker. Your cellphone's speaker is probably better, but if you're just browsing its good enough, at least for me. This ist a computer to play music for a party.
If you have an android you will be pleasantly surprised how well it integrates with your phone. It connects to all the wifi networks my phone is connected to, I get sms texts, and can reply to all messages through any app straight from the laptop.
Overall very happy with Chrome OS and this laptop.

Coming off a frustrating decade or two of Windows updates i finally went with this Chromebook. I couldn't be happier than i am now. This thing is just cool on so many levels. Screaming fast, all the right ports, Alum body, Gorilla Glass and 62000 Octane scores. I'll take it!
