Great laptop. Bought it with intentions to be on the go and play various games and VR using my Meta Quest 2. Ended up leaving it on my desk and using like a desktop. DONT do this. Lol It has been on for over a year straight and is starting to make some fan noises.

I've only had this laptop for a few days now, but it is by far the most powerful gaming laptop I've ever owned and one of the more powerful gaming devices I've used besides my desktop. I have an 18 month old, so being able to play any of my games at nearly maxed out settings at 1440p with above 80-90FPS is wonderful. Before this I had a 3050 laptop, which got the job done at lower settings, but in preparation for new games coming out, especially Starfield, I thought it was time to finally upgrade. For 800$ off the original price, this is an absolute steal, even with the 40 series cards being out. From what I've seen this card even goes toe to toe with a 4070 laptop card, and it's quite a bit cheaper than even the cheapest 4070 laptop. I did upgrade the RAM to 32gb and throw in a 2TB NVME in the extra slot, which has turned this thing from a monster into a beast lol. As of now, I recommend this bad boy. Even if you can't add any storage or more RAM right now, everything out of the box is well worth the price.

Very good packaging and came before the expected.
The notebook is worth for designing and gaming. I usually play Red Dead Redemption 2 on ultra and it never had any issues, but it gets a little loud as every notebook does. The colors are ok, but I use two monitors anyway so it doesnt matter much.

I have done maybe 5 reviews in my life. This review felt necessary after being very disappointed with a "nearly equal" hardware laptop from Asus. I've been an Asus fan for years, but this Acer Predator Helios 300 surpassed my overly high standards (in regards to my gaming needs).
My first issue with the prior laptop purchase 4 years ago on the Scar II- the speakers fluctuated with no permanent solution until 3 years later. Shortly after fixing a 3 year old problem, the power brick fried. Acer provided a seemingly better power brick, although, the brick is rather odd in size; plenty of cord length though. This brings me to the next topic, the wifi card.
The more recent purchase Asus laptop (not the scar II) had an unacceptably cheap and janky wifi card (Mediatek wifi 6 7921- go look at BB's customers' reviews in regards to the wifi card. This Acer has a properly functioning wifi card that seemingly receives good signal in nearly ever room of my house.
I know that a "gaming laptop" might seem like an oxymoron especially when I use to build my own gaming rigs, but unfortunately, I cannot sit in a traditional computer chair for more than 20 minutes at a time without horrible discomfort and pain. I'm restricted in a recliner with an adjustable lap desk so my wireless/mobility means are very important to me (yes, power cord, dongles, and occasional direct ethernet are a slight pain in the rear).
The graphics card meets/exceeds my gaming needs and I'm rather confident in it maintaining my needs for a few years (mid-long term future proof). However, the GeForce Experience app is clunky and unintuitive compared to what Radeon has done to their software/app. Meh, minor botch for me as I can download other software for my preferences. In fact, there are numerous software programs such as Predator Sense (meh) and Acer Care Center (meh), which come installed on this laptop.
The QHD screen looks crisp and clean almost like a hybrid LCD/LED. If you're familiar with laptops, then you're familiar with screen bleed. This laptop had minimal to no screen bleed (I have an insignificantly small bleed in the bottom right screen- not noticeable except during blacked out loading screens).
It comes with a 1TB SSD (more like 1.025TB), which can be expanded. 16GB RAM- meh, but you can upgrade it to 32GB later). The trackpad is rubbish, but one doesn't play games with a trackpad anyways.
While unboxing this laptop, I thought it was rather odd to be in what seemed like a shipper box. Come to my surprise, the laptop was in the traditional box inside the shipper box. Wait, it gets better... open the inner box, you'll find another box (sturdy compressed cardboard- think similar to particle wood). This box was held inside the inner box by two large and secured pieces of foam. Finally, you open the faux wood-like box, there's the beauty. Why do I delve into such details about the unboxing experience? It shows that Acer cares about the product reaching their customer safely.
As with any laptop, the fans on turbo sound like you're blasting off into space. This annoyance is drowned out with a nice Arctis Steelseries headset. Speaking of turbo, I was initially quite concerned with how the software operated the fans. It felt like it wouldn't kick up as I expected under stress. Turns out, you mess with some of the settings in their software provided, which helped alot. Not only that, but they have a turbo button... yes, I kept tabbing out to go to Predator Sense in order to put on turbo (whoops). That button is convenient because I can press it anytime I feel nervous about the stress/temps as well as turn it off to preserve the fans/peace.
All-in-all, it is a great laptop. The 4 stars instead of 5 is only because I'm quite critical about big ticket purchases. Oh... also- it is a thicker/girthier laptop (and pretty), but this I found great because it is better to have more room for airflow as gaming laptops get hot under stress. Good job, Acer. Asus, do better.

Worked fine for my vr setup using a valve index. Just needed the mini displayport to displayport adapter. It can be pretty loud at times but on the go this worked good enough running the index at 90hz. Bought on sale and was a really good deal for the specs

PROS: Very capable Laptop for gaming if thats your primary reason for the purchase this is the right choice. Try to get it on sale at 1399 it would be difficult to find something better for the price. CONS: Battery could be better I can get around 3 hours of streaming before I need to recharge.

I have the occasional lag. But iverall the laptop fulfills my needs. The fans are loud but with a headset it helps drown out the noise. The picture is really smooth even making scrolling an experience. Plays the games i want to play flawlessly. And streams no problem in 4k.

I am very pleased with the Helios 300. I play Apex and this setup is able to max out at 240+ FPS with low-med settings.
Battery does not last long! I had a 4 hr business meeting and I had ~25% left.
Regardless this outperformed my expectations!

Great gaming system for a laptop. Battery life is short. You need to have plug in available when playing . Also laptop gets hot when using it. But in its defense they all seem to have the same issues. It Is A Great Machine.

Bought it at a slightly higher price and I’m not even mad. Above average timespy scores without any oc. Add a pad and I’m getting desktop temps. 3070ti runs at the full 150w. Screen looks great. Build quality is great. No issues so far. Added a second nvme and 32g of ram.

Overall very happy with purchase. The build quality is very solid, but it is a bit heavier and a large powerbank than my previous MSI Stealth. Battery life seems average, but that's expected given the specs. Nice that they fit numpad on keyboard, but takes alittle getting use to having the main keyboard shifted more to the left than typical laptops and I have often misposition my fingers when typing. Performance have so far tested solid and performs pretty quiet.

I've been using this laptop for a few months and generally love it. It's a great performer for gaming and remote work needs. It does all the things i wanted, and many very well. I think it's a good value; for the price point, I'm happy. I read lots of reviews and looked into other options before making this purchase and the few cons I read about, I agree with. Neither are deal breakers, but can be annoying. The power outlet on the back is loose and the cord falls it easily. The other issue is the sound. The speakers are pretty weak, volume is an issue even for basic meetings. I always need a headset. I would buy again, it's a great machine.

Super nice laptop it can definitely run everything you throw at it just keep in mind the turbo button helps out more then you would think but it sounds like a jet engine about to take flight but other then that solid 10/10
