Don't want to build your own rig...then this is your solution. Out of the box you get the beautiful RGB rig, the RGB keyboard and mouse. The case is really nice looking and loaded with fans. Once Windows is set up there is little fluff software to remove. The predatorsense app allows you to adjust the colors and the fan speeds. It's a real sweet app and allows for plenty of variety in the controls. This rig gave me zero issues with anything I threw at it. The keyboard and mouse are basic but decent enough to use. Everything looks beautiful on this machine, even the machine. I think the pre built market has nailed it lately, not only affordable but good looking and fast machines. It stayed plenty cool enough being fanned cooled but I didn't notice the app adjusting fan speeds, maybe it was so slight and quiet that I just couldn't tell. Did I mention the 2 hard drives for plenty of storage, 1TB SD and a 2TB HD. For the average gamer this is a great out of the box system, it's inexpensive for the quality and the great looking case. I think most people will be satisfied with this computer and have happy times gaming until its time to upgrade.

memory access issues

Overall I rate this as a good gaming setup. I bought it about 3 months ago and it is running flawlessly. The only gripe I have is that I went to upgrade the memory from the stock DDr5 4400 mhz 16 gb to DDr 5 5200 mhz 64 gb. The cpu cooling fan blocks dimm slot #1 so you can only access 3 slots but since it is dual channel you have to do it in pairs. I installed 32gb but will be looking into buying a Noctua NH-U9S fan to replace the stock fan that will allow access to dimm 1 so I can max it out.

As a weekend gamer, there's a constant search for the ideal balance between top-notch gaming performance and everyday functionality. It's not just about frames per second and ray tracing; it's also about smooth Zoom calls, seamlessly creating presentations, and managing data. Acer's Predator Orion 5000 seemed to tick all the boxes, and after spending considerable time with it, I can confidently share my experience.
1. Power & Performance: Ready for Battle
The Orion 5000 is powered by the Intel Core i7-12700F 12-core processor. Notably, its base speed starts at 1.6GHz but can be turbo-boosted up to a whopping 4.9GHz. Coupled with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card, it’s clear that this machine was designed with gaming enthusiasts in mind. From the high-intensity battlegrounds of "Call of Duty" to the strategic environments of "Rainbow Six Siege" and the sprawling landscapes of "Forza Horizon", the Orion 5000 delivered outstanding performance. The fluidity, rich detail, and impeccable response times genuinely enhanced my gaming escapades.
2. Everyday Productivity: Zoom, Excel, and More
But what about the workweek? Transitioning to professional tasks, I utilized the Orion 5000 for several Zoom calls. The robust Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211 (Gig+) ensured that connectivity was consistently strong, while the Killer E3100G 2.5G Ethernet Controller solidified the connection even further, ensuring no dropouts or latency.
For productivity tasks in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, the 16GB DDR5 RAM effortlessly handled multitasking. Whether it was data-heavy spreadsheets, media-rich presentations, or long-form documents, the Orion 5000 was up to the challenge. The fast 1TB SSD also ensured quick application launches and file transfers, while the 2TB HDD provided ample storage for larger files and game libraries.
3. Aesthetic & Personalization: Shine Bright
Visually, the Predator Orion 5000 is a beauty. The case's Brilliant ARGB Radiance is a marvel to witness, and with Pulsar Lighting via PredatorSense, customization is a breeze. With up to 16.7M colors, I found myself experimenting and personalizing the lights to match my mood and the game genre. The EMI-Compliant Side Panel further complements the overall aesthetics while ensuring safety.
4. Audio Excellence: A Symphony for the Ears
Audio plays a crucial role in gaming immersion, and DTS X Ultra Audio on the Orion 5000 does not disappoint. Whether I was using headphones or speakers, the 360° surround sound system delivered an auditory experience that was rich, clear, and incredibly immersive.
5. Practicality & Connectivity: Always in Reach
Practicality is often overlooked in gaming rigs, but not here. The four top USB 3.2 ports (both Type-A & Type-C) are conveniently placed for easy access, as are the audio jacks. This thoughtful design is perfect for when you need to quickly plug in a device or attend a local LAN party.
6. Price & Value: The Build vs. Buy Dilemma
For many gamers, building a custom PC is part of the thrill. But when I compared the components and pricing, the Predator Orion 5000 offered similar value, but without the hassle of assembling, potential compatibility issues, or warranty concerns. The machine arrives ready to go, optimized, and with the assurance of Acer's renowned quality.
7. Expandability: Future-Proofing Your Gaming
With PCIe Gen-capable upgradeability, the Predator Orion 5000 is ready for the future. The support for DDR5-4000 configurations (up to 64GB) ensures that as games and software evolve, the machine can adapt, providing longevity and value.
Conclusion:
The Acer Predator Orion 5000 seamlessly merges the worlds of intense gaming and daily productivity. As a weekend gamer who also demands reliability for professional tasks, this machine hits the sweet spot. Its power, versatility, aesthetic appeal, and value proposition make it an excellent choice for those looking for a high-performance PC that can handle both work and play with finesse. Whether you're diving into intense gaming sessions, hosting a business call, or crunching numbers on Excel, the Predator Orion 5000 stands tall, ready to deliver and looks fantastic doing it!

Bought this setup about 6 months ago and it has been excellent since day one. Even with the new 13th gen CPUs and 4000 series RTXs that came out this setup is still future-proof for a few years. Great value overall.
The only thing I would change about it is the CPU cooler which is massive and if you're planning to use all 4 DIMM slots and install 4 sticks of RAM, you'd have to take the fan off to install all 4. It comes with 16GB of RAM which is not great but I bought two 16GB DDR5 5600MHZ and it fit just right. Wished the CPU was water cooled.

The motherboard is not good, I would recommend upgrading the motherboard and ram because the ram is slow and if you upgrade the ram then it won’t work with the motherboard and if you upgrade both the entire system will be a complete powerhouse and hold up with modern games at max settings. I also recommend increasing storage.
