    Great solution for Tivo mini

We recently purchased a Tivo Roamio and a Tivo Mini. To use the Tivo Mini, we needed to create a MOCA network in our house and this was the product we needed to do that. It was very easy to set up. It took just a few minutes to plug in both adapters following the instructions included with this product and on Tivo's website. We couldn't believe that once plugged in (one adapter into our router and cable modem and the second adapter into our Tivo Roamio), we had a fast MOCA connection throughout our house and the Tivo Mini worked great. It's more expensive than I would have expected but it works!

    Great Product, Easy Solution

This device transforms a wireless connection into a steady, fast wired connection. My own reason for purchasing the device was that the "included" WiFi for my apartment frequently dropped with no rhyme or reason, or wouldn't connect, and when it did connect it was so slow that it would take me ten to fifteen minutes to load a page, never mind even trying to stream. I put forth the upfront cost and my landlord installed one device in their home and the other was installed on my end. The setup was painless and quick, no more than fifteen minutes tops, and the connection has been hugely improved ever since. An occasional hiccup here and there while streaming video occurs, but nothing truly notable or remarkable. This is being used with service from Time Warner Cable and I have had no issues. Definitely a better alternative than installing a new line and paying a monthly service fee for it or even adding a router (and paying a monthly fee for that!). The feed over the coaxial cable is steady and reliable, something it most definitely wasn't when I was relying on their WiFi reaching from the house to the garage. Lastly, the device is so small in size that it creates no inconvenience for either party. It is worth every penny, though I do wish it were slightly less expensive, but that one time upfront cost is still so much less than new lines, installation fees, monthly subscriptions, etc. MOCA is absolutely the way to go if you need a solution to Wireless issues and want a wired connection!

Wired for cable , you're wired for ethernet

Easy to follow install instructions, just be sure no cable amplifiers between the units. Doesn't seem to worry about splitters. Check out the Actiontec website and Google MoCA for lots more info on these. True Ethernet speed at the user end, steady as a rock 1080P streaming at my home theater, 2 floors & 30 ft. from the router upstairs. Never could get good WiFi there. Put a cheap Ethernet switch ($15) there and I run up to 8 devices off this little guy (currently 6) Great if you are already wired for cable and want full Ethernet speed at any location where you have or can run a coax outlet. Much easier than pulling cat 5 cable around your house. These things just work.

Better alternative to power line adapters and wifi

Living in an older house I always wished we had network cables running throughout the house. The next alternative was to use power line adapters, which worked well for light internet use (i.e, surfing, email, etc), but not good enough for steaming HD content. That's where these MOCA adapters come into play. The setup was fairly simple. Connect an ethernet cable from the router to the MOCA adapter. Then a coax cable to the MOCA adapter. In the other room I had connected the coax cable to the other MOCA adapter and then to a switch. Streaming of HD content no longer suffered from buffering. We were also able to play a few online games without any hiccups. The only negative, if there is one, would be that they could be a few bucks cheaper.

Good solution for adding TiVO mini

This is a must in order to add a TiVO Mini, and avoid the cable company charging for digital adaptor rental every month. The cable companies are insane with all their overpriced crappie device rentals. Their seriously outdated DVR's are $30 a month, a stupid digital adapter is $3 a month. You use to be able to take the coaxial straight from the wall into the TV but when they realized they could make a change to the signal and charge people at every cable outlet their greed took over.

Upgraded to these from Belkin powerline networking adapters. Within 10 minutes of opening the box, I was streaming 1080p from computers upstairs with no hiccups. Paired this with a 5 port switch to hook up Tivo, WDTV, and two game systems to my home network. Read up on the standards before purchase. DirectTV & Dish use some of the same bandwidth over coax, so that may cause issues; I've had none with Time Warner. Great alternative if you have neither the money or skill to run networking cables through your house.

The thing just works. Haven't bothered to set up encryption yet because that's a little more complex. Did have to set it up on a different splitter branch that wasn't directly connected to the cable modem because it interfered with modem's signal.

My set top box from the cable company is now a video storage device on my network allowing access to recordings from my PS3. Wireless network in the home can be a problem with all the neighbors having an overlapping signal. Also the speed can very based on the signal. Using these adapters I have a high speed wired network and no need to install cat 5 cable in my home!

I bought a new tivo Roamio- it was recommended that I use a MoCa adaptor, and didn't have a clue- basically this was a super easy plug and play that gives Ethernet speeds to your home via your existing cable tv wiring- plugged in the cables and was up and running in minutes- worked right with no fiddling/setup. All of my tv's are using either a tivo, or tivo mini- super happy

I bought this router in order to connect more devices to my Verizon FiOS connection. These instantly connected to the MoCA network that the Verizon router made in the house and work great. Would definitely recommend it if you would like more wired connections in your house.

Exactly what I needed. Used this adapter to create and Ethernet connection to my router over existing coaxial cables. Plugged switch into the Ethernet port which allowed me to hard wire my Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox360. Much improved network performance compared to WiFi .

Literally plug and play, cant be easier than that while mantaining 100% of the speed through out the house. Get a POE filter though, f you have a DVR with your cable subscription, chances are there is one installed already, just check the connection to the house first.

I have an office over my garage & my wifi signal wasn't strong enough to stay on-line. I had the office pre-wired with coaxial cable when I built it. An adapter on each end of the coaxial cable & 1 end connected to the wifi router & the other connected to the computer. Works great!
