Hope this don’t happen to you. I got this drive delivered and when i opened it, it already had the a heat sink attached plus it came with an extra heat sink.... which it should NOT according to all the videos I have seen on the SSD. Also the box says the heat sink requires assembly.... and last but not least, the drive don’t work. My PlayStation says it can’t use the drive and only gives the option to turn off.... So Disappointed. I’m sure it’s a manufacturer error and not the Store but still so disappointed.

      Hello,

Thank you for your reply. Our flagship SSD offers the speed and reliability you need at an affordable price.
Please make sure your unit is appropriately installed into your computer or your PS5. If installing into a PS5, please make sure to have the appropriate firmware installed. Similarly, if you are installing the device in a laptop or PC, please review your motherboard SSD slots to make sure it can support NVME drive. Some motherboards only over one NVME drive slot and any additional slots maybe M.2 sata. Thank you! adatatechnology

My motherboard wouldn’t even pick it up. If you’re thinking of buying this, don’t pair it with a b650 eagle ax motherboard

      Hello Elijah,

I have looked up your motherboard specifications. This is a very easy fix. Please make sure to disable CSM in BIOS. CSM requires MBR partition type and UEFI requires GPT. For most modern SSD's, we want to make sure to choose UEFI to ensure easy install of Windows or Linux Distribution. Similarly, please make sure that the SSD is properly seated into your motherboard to ensure BIOS can accurately read it. If you need any assistance with a warranty replacement, please create an account on ADATA.com and click on "submit RMA service request" to get the process started. Thank you!

    Terrible SSD for PS5

Definitely installs and boots up in the PS5 but after only 10 days of use, the SSD stopped working and my PS5 had the undesireable endless bootup problem. I removed the SSD and the PS5 now works fine. Returning this defective SSD. I doubt that heatsink is very effective for long-term PS5 use anyway. Be smart and buy an SSD with an actual heatsink. This one does not even include instructions on how to install the heatsink. Assembly required with this one.

    Firmware/Controller Issues -

Added to my laptop. It was going good for 2 weeks until it dropped off and wouldn't initialize. I have the 1TB and it now appears as 2TB in disk manager. Device Manager now shows it as MN-5236. Uninstall/Reinstall; Enable/Disable, nothing. Seems to impact a few folks. ADATA firmware tool won't work since this is not SATA. Sounds like folks are returning them, no fix.

Horrible to say the least. Put it in PS5 and it did not recognize the storage. Uninstalled and reinstalled 3 different times and PS5 still did recognize storage. Basically dead junk. Took back the next day. Don't buy if using for PS5.

      Hello,

We apologize for the issue you have had with your product. The GAMMIXS70 blade works well with the PS5, most times this is an easy fix. Please make sure you have the current PS5 Firmware and that your device is properly seated into your PS5. The device should fit in snuggly and should have very little wiggle room, making sure its properly seated will resolve most issues.
We hope that you will consider us again in the future, we want to make sure we satisfy all your gaming and computing needs. Thank you! adatatechnology

Bought this hearing good things. Installed it and it only showed 2gb and wouldn’t initialize. Tried everything to see what the issue could be. Bought a Samsung drive and it works just fine so I know it’s not my computer, but this ssd. Returning it and keep the Samsung one that is more expensive but at least I know it works.

      Hello Sir,

Thank you for your inquiry. Please make sure you have installed this device in a PCIE port on your mother board and not in an M.2 Sata port. Please consult with your motherboard's manufacturer to make sure you are populating the correct ports.
As for your installation errors, please make sure you choose the correct partition table when installing windows. Using MBR as the partition table is not recommend. Please make sure to use GPT. Hopefully this helps someone in the future. We hope you give us another try in the future. In the meantime, please have yourself a great week.

      Sincerely,

      The ADATA/XPG Team adatatechnology

    Poor service and poor product

Please don't purchase until you read my review. I bought this drive on 4/16/22 for my ps5. It came with the heatsink and I was able to put in the Ps5. The heatsink was taken off the drive over a month ago to install in my pc because I never played the ps5. I started having issues in my PC where the drive wouldn't show up in Windows. It would happen every 3-4 weeks and I would reboot which would fix my issue. Here in the past week it did it 3 times in a week. I went to the ADATA website to download a software package that would allow me to download a firmware update. The firmware update couldn't install to the drive because it couldn't find the drive in the dropdown. I contacted support to do some of their stuff to the drive with them eventually telling me to RMA the drive. I went to RMA the drive today and the support has made every excuse not to warranty the product because of a sticker on the drive. They also wanted a serial number on the drive and because I couldn't supply it they don't want my product sent in. Their website on the RMA section clearly says to fill out what you have and not to worry about the Serial number. I don't every have issues with my technology devices failing adn I don't normally do a review but in this case I spent over 200 on a 2TB drive they won't stand up to their warranty. I purchased a new Western Digital Black drive yesterday because I already have one in my computer that works well. Please pass on this because the price doesn't help on a cheap branch because they don't back the warranty. From my knowledge they make crap products and they know it. Move on and find something better.

      Hello Sir,

I can see that you are not a verified purchaser of this product on the BestBuy platform which leads me to believe that you are trying to discredit our company with a false review.
We can always assist you in getting a working replacement under warranty, however, due to the high nature of fraud and manufacturing fakes we simply request that certain conditions are met.

In order to qualify for an RMA replacement under warranty, the ADATA/XPG brand will require these conditions to be met:
      1) The item must not be physically damaged or missing components
      2) The product must have the original manufacture warranty sticker (The serial number can be found on the warranty sticker and will be requested when filling out an RMA request)
      3) The product must be received with an authorized RMA Reference number on the package, any products received without a proper RMA authorization will be shipped back to the customer.

These RMA polices and procedures are consistent throughout all computer component manufacturers and we encourage that you do not modify or remove any warranty labels.
If you ever need any help answering general product questions or need assistance in filling out an RMA request, please visit our ADATA website for live support and we will help address all your concerns.
The ADATA/XPG brand is committed in helping satisfy all your computing and gaming needs. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Thank you!
