I replaced my Microsoft stereo head phones with the AG7's and I am really glad I did. I spent 1 1/2 hrs. in the store trying to decide if I wanted to spend another $60.00 for Turtle beach head phones. The sales staff was very helpful and said they had heard good things about the AG7's. Turns out they are way better than I expected. They are very comfortable and can be adjusted to accommodate just about any head size. The sound and volume is very good, with outstanding bass with no distortion. Battlefield 4 never sounded better. The richness and depth of the explosions and gun fire was surprising if not a little startling, and much better than my Microsoft, turtle beach and Tritton headphones. Volume is very good, and chat / game balancing is very easy to control and effective. The retractable boom mic seems to be working well and it is great that the mic gives you feedback into your speakers so you can monitor the level of your voice. They are stereo headphones so don't expect to get the directional cues from surrounding sounds like you would a 5.1 or 7.1 headphone, but I find them to be effective for use in games such as Battlefield 4 and Forza 6. Set up couldn't be easier. Connect the dongle to your Xbox and you are set. The side USB port works best for connectivity and range. I like the green LED lights, however they can easily be turned off by holding the mode button for 5 seconds. The mic provides LED colors to let you know the sound mode (pure or bass) and if you are muted in chat (occasional blinking of LED lights). The battery life is also very good and as advertised, but if you need to you can use them while you charge them using the USB cable supplied with the headphones. I feel fortunate to have stumbled upon the AG7's and highly recommend them if you don't want to break the bank.

Excellent "true" wireless headset for the price

The A7 version of the Afterglow headset is a excellent headset for the price and these are true wireless, I was upset with other headsets claiming wireless but then needing me to plug into the controller. After reading multiple reviews went with these and love the quality. Better than any turtle beaches I have had. Excellent sound quality when playing games the effects are great and with the bass boost it really makes you feel like you are a part of the game. I play shooters and in games like Rainbow Six Siege shooting actually makes my body pulse.. Bass is excellent.
Main issue I read about is trouble with others hearing you in chat. This is a slight issue but can be easily fixed by covering the noise cancelling mic on the front of the microphone. With this minor alteration the mic picks up my voice excellent and also still is able to noise cancel.
Pros:
-Actual wireless headset with good range 50ft.
-Great sound quality
-Excellent Bass Boost capabilities
-Great Battery life, last about 12 hours between charges
-Projects your own voice when talking so you know how loud you actually are
Cons:
-Need to cover noise cancelling to improve voice quality. (heard this is improved in A9 version)
-When muted only flashes light 1x every 30 secs. Can be hard to tell if you are muted
-Uses USB port. (not a huge issue unless you have a lot of accessories)
Overall great headphones. Best pair I have owned and really love the wireless flexibility. Would buy again and have recommended to my friends

I was a little nervous at first when I saw these headphones were truly hands free (no wires to the controller) as the headphones come with an USB stick that you plug directly into the XBOX that is Bluetooth. They work really well and hold a charge for around 15 hours of game play. There are two modes one for bass and one for clearer audio. I will say that the microphone level is a tad bit on the low side. People say they do have a little bit of a hard time hearing me but this is easily fixed by talking a little louder. The headphones produce great sound and is very clear! Overall, for the price, I would highly recommend. Plus they are comfortable and light weight. So if you are going back and forth on which ones to buy, I would go with the AG7. The price is spot on!
Thanks,
Josh

First my score reflects my general distaste for headsets so take the three and add one if you like them. I've purchased 3 MS Chatsets and 2 MS Stereo headsets with everyone breaking in short order (really thin wires and/or bad adapters). These so far have been better than expected. They are fairly comfortable and getting more so with each use. The stereo sound is fine and loud enough for me. But where they shine is no wires for chat or otherwise and the transmitter is nothing more than a small thumb drive looking device that inserts in the side USB port and is self powered. The range on these is also so much better than the MS or other headsets I've tried. Set the controller down walk to the kitchen for a drink and keep talking no problem. Even chatted from another room without the controller for an hour and the controller powering down but chat still worked. Not sure how far they'd go but they cover my small space just fine. The cons for these is chat volume and mic monitoring which works OK but is kinda pointless because I have to talk so loud for my friends to hear me clearly I could hear myself through the earpieces anyway. Everyone reports that I sound far away and faint unless I talk louder than I'd like and very distinctly. There maybe a firmware update to help but not the last I checked. Anyway I'd give these a 4 if I liked headsets so you can consider my three a little unfair. All I really want is a wireless rechargeable chat ear piece like the 360 had.... maybe someday but until then these are a very affordable alternative - even for a headset hater.

This headset holds up to the reviews I read on CNET and other sites, promising 10+ hours of gameplay. The sound, although the speakers are no surround capable, is very high quality in my opinion. Had issues initially with party chat, other players claiming that my voice was near inaudible often times, but a firmware update remedied this issue. Headset is a bit on the heavy side, but overall pretty comfortable for long gaming sessions.

Are these better than my turtle beach headset is why you are here probably, convenience wise simple answer is yes! I love my TB tangos but the headset adapter, plus a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter ughhhhhhhh something needed to be done simple solution Afterglow AG7. It comes pre-paired but installation and connecting were a breeze make sure to assign it to your profile if you have more than one Xbox user. Battery life true to the 16 hours of game play took almost a week to to deplete it, with that said it comes with a long enough play and charge cable. Sound amazing rivals the TB X32 i use to have. Now the mic which is why it didn't get a five star rating its not bad just adjusting it to where people can hear me plus i have to talk a little bit louder, i like the function of it going back inside the headset but it may be perhaps the retractable mic boom is a little to short. It could possibly a setting i missed noise cancelling feature. overall a great purchase and comfy!

Listened to a lot of headphones and read a lot of online reviews before pulling the trigger. Believe the hype - been using these since Xmas day, and no issue with the battery charge length, comfort, or audible/sound issues.

Great all around headset for $99.00. Beats the comparable Turtle Beach headset I had for the xbox 360 that still would not work with the xbox 1 even after I wasted $25.00 purchasing the adapter that T.B. said it would work with. So I read several reviews on this headset and purchased it and am not sorry I did. Stands up to everything it advertises. If your looking for a relatively cheap headset with great sound and neat looking green ear cup lights buy this one. You wont be disappointed! Also works great online!

My girlfriend cannot hear me gaming while using these.
Comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

Can be wireless.
Plus the color glow is pretty cool.
Cons:
Mic can be sensitive to background sounds while in a chat.

Overall the Sound and battery is good for the price. The mic volume is low, so your friends will complain a bit about your voice. I believe the retractable mic is to short to capture your voice well. If you speak directly to the mic ( instead of speaking from the side ) , your friends will tell the voice is ok. The integration with Xbox One is easy and no setup is required. Just plug and play.
