GREAT headphones alternative to in-ear pods

I wanted headphones I could wear in public that could play music without drowning out the noise from the outside world. I can't wear pods that fit inside my ears, (my ears will be searing with pain after 3 minutes with AirPods in) so these are perfect to listen while shopping, and I don't have to worry about accidentally ignoring people who are trying to grab my attention. They're pretty cheap, very durable, and the battery is great. I didn't give them 5* because sometimes they aren't loud ~enough~ (I would not wear them using any sort machinery louder than a vacuum) and the microphone isn't perfect (sometimes, although rarely, during calls the microphone feed disrupts the audio). But these are perfect for $65 and I'm sure the version that the aftershokz company sells for double the price fixes these mistakes. I love these headphones, I wear them everywhere, and my only regret is not taking the chance purchasing the more expensive model, which I'm sure are even better. Hopefully they make these for a long, long time.

My daughter has bilateral hearing aids. We can use the ear buds but didn’t want to do that as they then wouldn’t pick up surrounding conversations. We got these bone connection headphones and she can hear her music or the tv and still hear me when I call for her or have a conversation about the show. They we’re slightly big so we returned these and got two sets of the mini size. One for her and one for me (I have lots of earrings which make ear buds impossible). Love these!!!

good product, small discomfort behind ears, need to keep it on high volume when talking on the phone or I have to plug my ears to be able to hear, they vibrate on high volume and people are able to hear what I'm listening.

These headphones work great and the setup and connection was quick. The fit is tight and with glasses it takes some practice to make them comfortable. The sound is very good, plenty of volume and clear as a bell on calls. The hands free feature is superb and is easy to connect to your favorite numbers. Being able to hear what's happening around you, even when playing music at peak volume is the best part, nothing in your ears to irritate or fall out.

I really like the tech. The only issue I have is that when wearing them they rest on the back of my ears. After just a little time of wearing my ears start to feel some discomfort. I have to keep adjusting them. I love the fact I can wear them with ear plugs and they sound even better when my ears are plugged. They also allow me to hear people talking to me while I'm wearing them.

Have hearing loss recently several hearing test run but have not purchased a hearing aid as of yet. My problem in communication has been with the cell phone and since all the hearing loss I have recently had trouble in hearing on my cell phone. I researched the web and found that I was not to use any thing inside my ear it would make the problem worse. But what I read said that I could use a "Wireless Bone Conduction Ear Headset to hear on my cell phone and what ever device that took a Bluetooth. The answer for me was a AfterShokz Titanium Wirless Bone Conduction-open Ear Headpnones. I have only had it for a month Love it, works great with my LG I also bought at Best Buy

These are decent for their intention. I use them for running and workouts where I want to know what's happening around me and such. From that perspective they're great. Initially I wasn't impressed with the bone tech, and thought they were just loud headphones that sat outside your head. But, when I plugged my ears and could hear the music clearly THROUGH my skull, I was like "okay!" ... Two things that need improvement: 1) there is some pressure on the area where the bone conductive padding sits on my head, pretty tightly... so sometimes there are headaches associated with that; other times I can go all day with no issue. 2). The Mic is horrible if there's wind, or ambient noise; people can't hear me if it's windy, and my Dad had to hang up when I was at Costco and there was a baby crying about 4 aisles over... need better sound calibration for capturing the voice of the wearer. Last issue - my set broke today and I'm returning them for hopefully the next model up ; I've had this pair for about 17 months and used them pretty regularly at least 4-5 days a week. The part that broke is near the ear... probably broke due to the high tension spot along the right side. (See image.). I would still recommend these but for a specific customer and it's not for everyone.

I got these to be able to listen to music and still hear my surroundings, they work great for that. Good sound, not much bass, but that was expected. Battery life seems pretty good so far, definitely lasts the 6 hours. My main complaint is the fit, the band that goes behind my head is too big, I wish it was smaller. There is a mini version but I was afraid it would be too small. I f they would have had the smaller one in stock I would definitely give it a shot.

    AfterShokz Titanium Bone Conduction Review

Excellent sound and very comfortable. A little tricky to get a proper placement if you wear glasses. Phone calls have been clear and the microphone works quite well. It has a voice that tells you twice to charge it when the battery is getting low before it powers off instead of just shutting off like others. Of course the louder you listen to your content the less ambient sounds you'll hear around you. At about half volume I can still clearly listen to music and clearly hear everything around me.

When I saw a friend wearing a pair of Trekz, I was intrigued, so he let me try them out. I'd heard about bone conduction headphones, but had never had the chance to try them. I was impressed by how well they worked! If you're considering these, you shouldn't be evaluating them like you would any other pair of traditional headphones. Due to the way they work, they aren't going to sound as good nor as loud as the better versions of in-ear monitors. But that's not a bad thing, and I'll try to explain. Trekz are marketed to highlight the fact that they don't block up the ear canal like other headphones. This becomes valuable if you're wearing them while running or doing other strenuous activities. From a safety perspective, being able to still hear ambient sounds while listening to your tunes is a definite advantage. It's also oddly satisfying to be able to walk around an office building listening to something while still being able to hear people you pass saying hello to you. You don't feel like you're in a movie with the sound muted. The sound quality of these is quite good. They do lack bass, but that's just because they're getting the sound to your ears using your cheekbones, and not the ear canal. If you want to improve the overall tone of the music, you can plug your ears with the included ear plugs, but that kinda defeats the whole purpose of the Trekz. Yes, they come with ear plugs--it's pretty cool. What I didn't think of right away is how valuable these are as a hands-free headset for phone calls. They feature dual microphones which do a great job of picking up your voice. My wife always complained about other hands-free headsets I've used, but she has no complaints about the Trekz-we can hear each other very clearly. An added bonus is that I can keep them on while driving if I'm waiting for a call, and I don't have to feel like it's annoying to try to listen to the car radio. This has become one of my favorite ways to use these. One of the great things about the Trekz is how easy it is to get a good fit. They slip over your ears and settle in easily right where they belong. They don't pinch the ears and can be worn comfortably for long periods of time. The headband goes around behind the head and is very light and mostly not noticed. The only time I don't like it is when I'm wearing a coat with a high collar, but that's not really a big deal. So, should you buy these or spring for the newer model? Actually, I don't think there's enough improvement to spend 50% more. Do yourself a favor and get these! Oh, one more thing. If you play music with more bass, you'll notice that the Trekz cause you to feel vibrations in your cheekbones and ears. It's pretty annoying, but I'm getting used to it. I think this is really the only major thing against the Trekz, but it's not enough to ruin them. I've found myself enjoying these much more than I thought I would. They're great to use while running, or just around the office. Give them a try!

    Bone Conduction Technology!

I was very curious about the so called bone conduction technology that I actually purchased the headphones. The sound quality is clear. It's kinda interesting to when I think that the audio is actually inside my head as opposed to in my ear. The fact that I can hear the outside world is good because I can hear my kids as I listen to audio. It gets kinda uncomfortable as I wear it for a long period of time, but then I experience that with a lot of headphones as no headphone is perfect. Overall... 5 stars Pros - Clarity - battery life - easy to pair - lightweight - can still wear with sunglasses - can hear the outside world Cons - it gets uncomfortable after wearing it for 2+ hours - Not good if you want bass. I listen to talks a lot so it doesn't matter to me.

I purchased the mini version for my daughter for her birthday. She is 5 and was born with bilateral artesia. Basically meaning she has no ear canals. Traditional headphones whether being inner ear or over the head will not work for her because there is no passage for sound to get through her ears. She loves watching her tablet but for her to hear it even with her hearing aids she has to have the volume very loud and it hurts everyone's ears so we make her turn it down. When we hooked up her aftershokz for the first time and connected them to her tablet she wasn't phased. Then as soon as I put them on her head and she realized what was going on she started crying. She wanted to listen to music and dance she was so excited. Her teachers at school think the will come in handy later on when she gets to the age of using computers. I'm so grateful for today's technology and knowing that my daughter will always have access to sound.
