Customers frequently mention the improved graphics and the overall quality of the remake as significant strengths of Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX!. Many also appreciate the game's price point. However, some find the game challenging, and a few have noted that the controls could be better. The game's difficulty may make it unsuitable for younger players.

A flashback to the original with style

If you are a platformer fan you will love this title but I will say its extremely challenging even if you are a pro, basically one hit and you are dead. The good thing is there is a unlimited lives option but don't get it wrong, it will still be challenging since this unlimited lives options is not what you may think in comparing it to other games. It actually makes the game more like conventional platformers in how you progress through the levels. That being said the graphics are outstanding and its cool that they are the same levels as the original game except better looking. I also love the fact that you can switch back and forth between the original graphics and current ones at any time during the game, definitely something for the fans. Overall very happy with this purchase and I hope more remakes are done like this.

This game is awesome! Completely faithful to the original (in fact exact), and I think the best feature is that you can switch real time from the DX version to the original SMS version (all that changes is the graphics).
You can tell a lot of love was put into this game. It's obvious that this port's creators were huge fans of the original and placed a lot of emphasis on preserving it while creating a new experience for people who like the modern niceities and graphics.
It's hard, but it has an infinite lives option which places near where you died in case you don't like the OG rules which made it way harder. So very playable, beatable and fun for newcomers and people who loved this OG master piece.

Brings back childhood nostalgia. Loved playing this on a new console. So it made me dust off the old Master System and play Alex Kidd one more time

Awesome release of Alex Kidd! Love the keychain and Manual. A game could be trash but as long as it comes with goodies, it def gets extra credit bonus points lol. Fortunately this isn't a terrible game.

This game did not impress me. You die after one hit and the hit box is very unforgiving. The controls could use some improvement. It did come with an instruction booklet and key chain. I like the retro reversable cover too.

Great Sega classic remade for modern times. Game is a bit too hard for children so don’t buy it for anyone under 14. Controls are little floaty but other than that decent game if you are okay with taking a beating from the difficulty

Improvements are minor and noninvasive. Modern graphics are good. Switching between modes is taked a second. Some frustrations, like the short reach of Kidd, remain.

My first system was the Master System with Alex Kidd in Miracle World built in. So this game has a spot in my heart that no other game has. It was a blast to be able to switch back and forth from original to new graphics. A lot of memories, and not a bad platformer to boot (but very different from Mario which I played on a friends NES). The reversible cover for the original case artwork is a really nice feature and how I have stored it.
Do I expect my kids today to pick this up? Not really. It holds up for Nostalgia but I'm unsure it would for those who don't have that connection.

Fun but difficult game. But an old school classic remade. I like the additional booklet and keychain that comes with it.

I enjoyed playing this game as a kid and playing it now brought back memories. The graphics are a huge improvement over the old ones; I greatly enjoy being able to play with either the new or the old graphics at any given moment.

This game is awesome. Definitely has the old school feel since you can flip from old school graphics to a more modern day style throughout the game. It's gameplay is very reminiscent of the original Alex Kidd game from Sega.

I was happy to see Alex Kidd return on my switch! He might be Segas failed mascot but his game was great back in the day! This remake is the classic Alex Kidd game with better graphics and great control.

This was the 1st game I got on the Sega Master System. I really like the upgraded graphics and that so far I haven't seen too many differences in game play.
