I love Alien. It’s my favorite in the series. It’s great as a stand alone film. So getting this steelbook was a natural choice for me. The steelbook is nice looking and well designed. But I feel like there’s just something missing. The rainbow gasoline-like parts don’t really pop like I wish. And I would like if the green was really super neon green. But those are small complaints. Overall it looks great, and having a digital version is wonderful.

It had to be hard to improve over the already impressive Alien Anthology disc, but the 4K remaster still manages to stand head and shoulders above it, with color and detail levels unprecedented for this title.

If you're a fan of this first in the Alien franchise then the 4K UHD is a must own. Deep inky blacks, scary shadowing and a soundscape that does not belie its age. Still packs an eyebrow raise after 40 years.

One of the greatest scifi/horror movies of all time. I hadn't watched my Blu Ray in years but I am sure that there is more detail and better color in my 4K version.....without a doubt. Anyway, at $15 I had to have it.

Ridley Scott is a master-class filmmaker and so this review will reflect not so much the film but the image quality. With the movie being upgraded to 4K the picture quality is crisp. Highly recommend the triple dip...

Alien [40th Anniversary] [Digital Copy] [SteelBook] [4K Ultra HD Blu-ray/Blu-ray] [Only @ Best Buy] [1979]. Great movie. First time on 4K Ultra-HD for the films 40th anniversary. In space, no one can hear you scream.

There's something about the original that can't be topped. All the surprises and "gottcha ya's" are all known at this point, but the buildup is always worth the wait. Now it can be seen in all it's 4K Ultra glory.

Ama get to the point of why I gave it 4/5 stars. The books looks horrible, I don’t like it one bit.... That said, the movie itself upscale looks amazing! Very very dark but it got the treatment it deserved! Looks nice and the colors are very fluid. The movie remains a juggernaut amongst all these other huge Hollywood flicks! Am pretty sure by now everyone has seen it. If you haven’t, now is the proper time to pick this up on 4k

Alien is easily one of the best sci-fi films of all-time. You can even make an argument that it is the best sci-fi film of all-time. This steelbook is beautiful and watching Alien in 4K is absolutely amazing.

This 4K update to Ridley Scott’s Classic perfectly delivers on expectations. The picture is perfect, the sound is incredible. This is the best version of the movie yet. The steel book packaging is an added bonus.

For starters, the picture generally looks incredibly clean for a film of such vintage. Grain is generally beautifully managed, giving the image a suitably filmic look. Plus it's on sale instant pickup!

This is a good 4k transfer, especially since it's quite dark normally and a lot of the details have been revealed with HDR. Apparently though the directors cut isn't all 4k, there's some 1080 footage in it.

Looks great as ever on 4k, definitely worth it for Alien fans. For those that haven't seen it, definitely do! Easily one of the better, early space/horror/sci-fi films of the early 80s. A definite classic!

If you’re an avid collector of Alien merchandise like I am, this is a must have. The quality of the case is impeccable. The artwork is beautiful, and it’s a great cut of the film. Highly recommend.

Not the type of jump scare horror but the more unknowing aspect of where the Alien is. I think the Alien only has around 3-4 minutes of screen time but it’s perfect, you never know when it’s going to pop out.

Classic film. And definitely worth the upgrade. The 4k transfer is terrific.

Picked this bad boy up for $5 dollars and it's so worth it. The movie itself looks and sounds great. They did a great job remastering the film. Huge fan of these 4k remasters and hope to see more like this.
