If you don't need all the extras that the Quadrilogy offers, this simple multi-disc set is a very good deal.

These DVDs are for our buddies who have not seen this classic. Alien and Aliens are must sees! The final two get a little crazy and far fetched but still entertain the Alien fan.

It seems the titling of this DVD collection is misleading. From playing these discs, they appear to be reprints of the Alien Legacy set from 1999. Alien Legacy even shows up on screen before the menus. Sure, the DVDs were remastered, but, when? It's odd because this set would have been perfect if it were comprised of reprint DVDs from the real Alien Quadrilogy set (2003) which has 2 versions of each film, and great standard definition quality. Not sure why Fox opted for older masters on DVD when better ones have existed for years after the Legacy set. This set has 1 movie per disc. Whereas, the 2003 Quad set has 2 per disc. Why not use those discs for this set? I'd get this set for cheap as all movies arw decently represented; they're not bad or anything However, if you're a DVD person, the 2003 Alien Quadrilogy is the superior package with more primary movie variants. Cool package design on this set though.
