Extremely amazing and powerful laptop - able to handle everything that I throw at it, from gaming to office work.

I am going to give this review a two-fold review. I am want to give it a real world look at this as well as a somewhat closer look of what it is advertised to be. First off the looks of the laptop is really a treat to look at. It looks like future tech for sure! I deal with laptops on a somewhat daily basis, so it's a refreshing take of what laptops look like in the current world. Also great is the addition of the RGB Lights. I guess because of the gaming tag on it, it should be pretty to look at and it is. The specs, on paper looks impressive and what it looks like it can do, to me should be a bunch. The onboard memory of 16gb is decent, but no lack of expansion really is a bummer. What gaming laptop doesn't have an option for additional RAM? It's pretty unheard of in the world of gaming really. In the basic use of laptop, of checking emails, browsing webpages and videos online, it's a no brainer. It runs fantastically (however more on that usage a litle later). But the speakers are really weak for this laptop (also more on this later lol). For the price, I expected a lot more out of them. But the keyboard which is backlit for one, is indeed a joy to play with and also a joy to type on. The trackpad is on par with others in the current market, today, nothing more to say on that. Not bad, but nothing noteworthy in my opinion, it works and that's it. Now onto the gaming on it for a few days; The Alienware laptop gave very pretty graphics, both physically and within the gaming I used it for but the sacrifice was in the cooling and sound. No matter how much I changed the settings, it would overheat so quickly. Just simple task as in viewing the web or typing up small emails, would heat up the system. That was half the issue, but the next was the turbo system loudness of the cooling fans. Simply turning on the system, even at ‘normal’ thermal setting would sound like a jet getting set for takeoff. The other sacrifice to the sound was the speaker itself. After playing with headsets on, you forget that occasionally you want to use a laptop for other things. I found the speakers to be cringeworthy. At full factory volume, it was pathetic at best. Add in the overpowering cooling system and it’s not worth the effort at all. It is so close to being enjoyable as is and it still can be but you need to put a little effort into offsetting for sound buffering and cooling. Would I recommend this laptop? For general use for how it looks, it looks really cool, but for a gaming, I cannot really recommend it wholeheartedly. I really, really wanted to love it, because since the conception of Alienware, I have dreamed of owning one, but now having one in hand it really did not live up to what it looks like. It looks like a piece of future tech, but has the mechanics of yesteryear's nuts and bolts. So I give it an average review because of the looks of it, but that's pretty much it. Like I mentioned, I really wanted to love this machine, but fell short in what I put through it.

I was up and running in less than 10 mins.... BUT there no directions with the machine at all, all self-contained.
