I create videos from an IPhone weekly so I was excited to try out the Aluratek - Wireless Vlogging Lapel Microphone. So far, I am happy with the improved audio over the phones’s built in microphones. My biggest issue with the product arises from the case rather than the microphone/functionality. Setup: Plug the receiver into the Lightning port on the IPhone, and turn the Label microphone on with a little button and you are ready to go! Usage: The microphone uses 2.4ghz connectivity between the mic and the receiver so range is quite good. I was able to achieve the claimed 60ft in direct line of sight without issues. If you are transmitting through walls or objects, the range could be less. The receiver that plugs into the phone has an additional lightning port on the side so you can still plug something else into the phone at the same time. The sound quality was an improvement over the built in phone mic for sure. This removes most background noises that may be captured with the phone mics (Although they have gotten better over the years as well). I used this for videos recorded directly to the phone and then uploaded to YouTube for customers. This could be very helpful for people who use their phone for video calls or just to record voiceovers. The uses is quite endless for those who need good audio through their IPhone. My biggest issue with the product is the charging case. The listing claims this is a “Wireless Charging Case” and that is not true. “Wireless Charging Case” to me means that the case can charge wireless via Qi but this one cannot. This is a USB charging case that has to be charged through a wired connection. So overall, it is a charging case but NOT a “wireless charging case”. My other issue with the case is the lid, hinge, and magnet for the lid. The lid feels loose on the hinge and the magnet for the lid is very weak. It takes literally no effort to open the lid which makes me worried that one of the pieces inside could fall out inside a backpack or something. Luckily the magnet that holds the mic into the case is strong but the receiver is fairly loose inside. Overall, the case feels cheap and I would be worried about what would happen if it was inside a backpack being jostled around. Overall: I believe this product is a good value if you are seeking an upgrade in audio quality for your IPhone or lightning port equipped, Apple device. If the case was improved a little (and not advertised as a “Wireless Charging” case, then I believe this would improve the product.

Pro: -Easy setup, no extra recording app needed -Noise cancellation works well enough -Charge phone while using Con: -Won’t fit with thicker phone cases -Case lid is loose -Not wireless charging -Only work as recording mic The lapel mic is easy to set up, simply plug n play. It connects automatically and works with any app like the native voice memo, camera, and various streaming apps. There is one multi function button to power on, mute, and control noise cancellation. The range claims to be able to go up to 60ft, but 20ft is closer to real case use. It will not work for voice calls. The receiver may not fit phones with thick cases. I have a soft thin case and it barely fits. It does have a port so the phone can be charged in use. The charging case is NOT wireless charging, but charges with USB-C. It’s a bit bulky but still small enough to be easily carried around. The lid is loose and easily flips open, but the magnets holding the mic and receiver should at least keep them from falling out. The audio quality is about the same as the mic on the phone, lacking on the deeper sounds. It does pick up my voice well enough but will sound better when it’s within a few inches from my face. The noise cancellation is good enough to reduce fan noise and background hums. For recorded content it should work fine. You have the freedom to move away from the phone and reduce some of the echo you would get from using the phone mic. It would work well to have a separated audio track and compositing in an editing software. For live content, it will depend on what it is. If it’s primarily streaming from YouTube or Twitch on mobile, then it can be something handy to have around while on the go. If it’s from a pc, because it has to be done with the phone, there’s no easy way to incorporate it into that set up so it’s not going to work well with that. I don’t think the mic quality is good enough without processing for a good live stream. For its intended use, it’s a good entry point for content creation on the go. It sounds about the same as the phone mic but with the added benefit of being able to move around. It also does a good job at reducing white background noise. It's a simple plug and play and works with any app for recording.

I did not expect much from this microphone for the seemingly low cost and just general attitude towards lapel microphones, but this thing surprised me big time and left me very impressed. I first tested it for distance. I have some Bluetooth headphones for my computer and I can’t even go to the bathroom down the hall without them cutting out. I started a recording and left my phone on one end of the house. I walked to the other end, probably about 75 feet and then made my way through various rooms to ensure there was plenty of separation between the microphone and the phone. I was surprised that the recording did not so much as stutter. I then used a very nice pair of headphones to compare the audio of identical recordings using an external hot shoe mic on a vlog camera versus this lapel microphone. The camera mic picked up a ton of echo from the room and lost a lot of the deeper tones, sounding tinny. The lapel mic eliminated almost all of the echo and had a richer more full sound. Absolutely stunning. No apps, no Bluetooth, you just plug the receiver into the iPhone lightning port and then the lapel mic on. They automatically connect and you can begin recording! 10/10 highly recommend.

Aluratek’s Wireless Lighting Lapel Microphone is a must have device for any vloggers, content creators, live streamers and has exceeded my expectations during testing. Audio quality is clear and crisp and it uses a 2.4GHZ frequency for recording and is good for 18meters distance from the receiver. Its small form factor allows for easy to use and is plug and play with no additional apps or software required. Just plug the receiver to the lighting port of iPhone and the transmitter and receiver automatically connects. Microphone just slips to the dress and is designed with 360-degree omnidirectional sound pickup that reduces ambient noise for a quality clear recording. Comes with the wireless charging case that can recharge the transmitter up to 6 times when fully charged. Charging case has the USB-C port for charging and it does come with USB-C charging cable. Very impressed with the size, quality of voice calls, wireless charging case with included USB-C charging cable, clip for attaching to dress. If you are a content creator or vlogger, then this small but mighty device will get better voice guaranteed for all your recordings.

I wasn't quite sure what quality I would be getting for the under $40.00 paid for the Aluratek AWLML01F Wireless Vlogging Lapel Microphone with charging case. Seems pretty inexpensive at that price point. When it arrived, I was very interested in putting it to use to see if I could replace the large bulky Samson mic I had been using for video courses, Facetime and Zoom calls. The box the Aluratek mic came in was pretty unassuming and gave me no indication of the quality of the device. I went ahead, opened it up and had it paired and ready to use within a few minutes of charging up the charging case with the microphone and remote bluetooth connector inside. The mic connected and paired immediately with my iPhone and I was able to begin using it with no issues at all. The sound quality captured by the Aluratek Wireless Vlogging Lapel Mic was clear and crisp - very good and true sound of my voice came through when I replayed the video. I am very pleased with the device, its sound quality and portability when away from my home office.

    Great for Presenting

I work at an online only school, and am always looking for a better means to communicate with my students. Especially now that everyone is working at home, I have become a lot busier, and am making many more presentations. The Aluratek lapel mic is wonderful for creating new presentations on any platform. Just do keep in mind that this is for Apple devices with a lightning connector, and won't work with Android or other devices. While this makes the device a bit less versatile, when used with Apple products it is so easy to setup, you just plug in the receiver to your Apple device, turn on the mic, and you are ready to go. The charging case is great, as when I am storing the mic and receiver, it is also charging so it is ready for the next use. The case can recharge your mic 5 or 6 times without itself needing charged, via the included USB-c cable. Do keep in mind that this is meant for creating content, but not intended for two-way communication, so don't expect to be using this for chatting.
