Like many others, I anxiously awaited the release of this tablet as THE kids tablet that everyone would want and at a price that was reasonable for a kids product. After all, that's how Amazon marketed it. What was released was a somewhat buggy and unintuitive interface (for both adults AND kids.) The hardware seems underpowered when you are using the tablet - lags and hangs are frequent. And with only 4.4GB of storage available to the user, it is easy to see how quickly this device reaches maximum capacity. Battery life leaves a lot to be desired, as well Such a shame! With a properly implemented and debugged interface, an SD slot and a little extra battery life, this tablet could have dominated the market. The battery life could be tolerated and the bugs could eventually be worked out of the interface - but the storage issue is permanent. Hard to believe that an SD slot might have changed this device entirely. Might I suggest the Samsung Tab 4 with a Griffin Survivor case. If you catch it on sale, the 7" model comes in at right around the same price with a case as this device. The Tab 4 has a very robust kids mode that does most of what the Kindle Fire HD Kids Edition strives to do.

So far we have had no issues with this product. It was purchased for my 7 year old cousin and has worked great from the beginning. She has dropped it a few times, not far, but there was still a drop and it works the same as before. She loves being able to watch videos, read books, and play games all on her tablet.

Little man was always using the kindle fire hd and it was a bit big for him at 3 years old. This size is perfect and the case helps him hold it more firmly. Already survived a drop, but the 2 year worry free guarantee gives us peace of mind. A must for any kindle user with kids.

This piece is an exceptional purchase at a great price. I purchased this for my granddaughter on her 4th birthday. This is a great learning tool in many different categories.

She already had Nabi2 but this tablet has so much more to offer. She uses it more than the Nabi2.

My only gripe is a very small data capacity of 8mb, it quickly fills up and you have to delete games and books to make it work again.

This tablet is great for kids. My daughter is used to IPad and found this very easy to use.

I feel great with my daughter having this Kindle. I don't feel like I have to hold my breath that it will be broken when it's dropped cause the case is really great for a child. The Free Time App gives her access to all things that are right for her but that's it. The time limits are great. I can make sure she is only on there for the length of time that I feel is needed. Overall I am well pleased with this purchase.

The 1st one I purchased was amazing, my daughter loved it. Freetime was such a great thing to have with so many educational apps. It got damaged and since they dont repair these then I had to get store credit and purchased the same product. The 2nd one was not good like the 1st one. I kept getting errors and storage messages until finally the screen blacked out. I really believe the 2nd one I purchased was refurbished because it showed signs of the product not being brand new. So my 3rd purchase was a Samsung and I love the Samsung better.

I purchased this for my 3 year old granddaughter hoping she would be able to navigate without any problems and she just loves this! It's easy for her to navigate and download games that are age appropriate and educational. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to buy something for a young one.

My daughter has been asking for a kindle for over a year. We finally got her one and she loves it.

Great for books and games, a 8mg is limit on video

I love the kindle fire for kids, my son used to use mine but now he has his own. I also love the free year of Amazon free time I believe it's called as well as the 2 year no questions asked insurance. It keeps my son busy, the case protects it well and he loves that it's his and it's just his size too.

This product is great for toddlers and the offers that come with it can't be beat.

An actual tablet for kids. This is a real tablet not a kids underpowered one.

Like the parental controls on it that they have to do learning first before free time

We boutght this for our five year old daughter. She quickly learned how to use the tablet. It is large enough to have good graphics, yet small enough that it is easy for her to hold and use it. The graphics are good, the use time before needing to recharge it isalso good.
