For the price, it's the best tablet for kids. Get access to the kindle free time unlimited library for less than the cost of paying for a year's worth of subscribing. The appstore is curated so you can have a reasonable degree of certainty the content is age appropriate, and you can also add in typical apps like Netflix to expand your options. An SD card is a must, but those are cheap now. Wouldn't hesitate to buy, these are on sale often. The refurbished one through best buy did not seem activated with free time unlimited, but Amazon made it right and gave me a year for free. Best buy customer service was NOT helpful.

kindle fire stopped powering on 3 weeks after purchase. geek squad said past return policy and nothing can be done. $50 for 1 month use kindle.. JUNK
