It was time to replace my old 3rd gen Kindle and thought this would be a nice upgrade. I've used a tablet to read as well, but I find e-ink devices easier to read for long periods and with much less glare. Pros - The device feels solid, and the thicker side with the battery makes it easier to hold one-handed. It's fairly responsive and downloads books quickly. Cons - The automatic light adjustment doesn't work well. It would often turn up all the way in a well-lit room or outside and would turn almost off in a dark room. More than once I had to reboot the device because it would lock up, especially if you try to queue up several book downloads at once. The page turn buttons would sometimes change several pages instead of just one (this appears to be a common complaint). The touch sensitivity extended almost 1cm into the button area by the screen, which often caused me to accidentally flip pages if my thumb moved too far over. The same extended area did not exist on the other side of the screen.

Got this to read in the pool! Easy to see, turn pages, no worries.

I am very happy with my Kindle Oasis and love that it is backlit, making it easy to read outside in the sun. The only downfall is that it is difficult to find cases for the device and it is thin and can easily slip out of your hands. I wish I could find a case that would protect it from being damaged if dropped.

I like the size of it. The font, the ability to set your preferences. What keeps me from liking it completely and using it all the time is the battery. Being retired I like to read for a good period of time. By 2 or 3 hours I have to charge the battery. It's false advertising that the battery lasts for weeks.

It works really well and I didn't use it much but I have tried it out. With the option to listen to audio books as well it's a great item for anyone who likes reading.

Since this is my first kindle I wish there were some paper instructions as I am having trouble finding the instructions I am looking for.

This reader is great and offers so many configuration settings to personalize. It is so visually clear. I am glad I got this one.

I couldn't wait fort Santa to bring this to me this year, so I went and gifted myself. I know that I deserve it! Can't wait to link and download my faves!

This is a great device, I have hundreds of books on it, so traveling with my library on this small device is perfect. Battery life is amazing.

Bought this for my avid reader wife - she has gone though numerous ereaders and she rates this the best she has ever used.

Took me a few days to get used to it after having the bigger one for a few years but I now love it and am so happy with it.

The kindle oasis is the best reader I got so far, the new feature of the light for night reading is great.

That’s a really cool device but I don’t get to use it that much. But it’s a really good thing to have if you’re a reader.
