Most first time PC builders overestimate just how much CPU power they need and end up purchasing high end stuff that they likely don't need. This was a pretty good fit in between value and performance compared to the high end Ryzen stuff. Only con would be the price and how it doesn't drop even close to the 3600 non X during sales considering the only marginal performance difference.

Everything worked great, installed nicely on my msi b550 gaming plus

Very similar to 3600

You wont get that much of a performance difference vs something like the 3600. if a small bump in ghz clock speeds is worth the extra 50$ go for it. If you dont care then I would stick with the 3600 and save a few.

I found this processor cheaper elsewhere but Bestbuy.com price matched it with no hassle. Very noticeable upgrade glad I went with it.

Fantastic CPU

I paired it with the MSI B450 Tomahawk Max and it worked together perfectly out of the box, with no BIOS upgrade necessary. The cooler on this is more than adequate for the CPU and temps have all been very good for an AMD chip. It's fast as hell, too. Super happy with this purchase. This chip is like the R9 390 of CPUs right now.

Good cpu if you don't want to oc.
