Fantastic style, flashy sets, fickle substance

This show is dripping in opulence and extravagance. A lot of money was spent on production design and it shows. However, not as much effort was placed in some of the subplots. If you are okay with style over substance, you should be fine. I loved the special features that came on this Blu-Ray set which made it a must-buy for me.

I am very sad to see the negative reviews of this season. I can only surmise that most of it is, sadly, based on either the absence of the great Jessica Lange and/or the refusal of certain fans to embrace the overwhelmingly talented Lady GaGa. This season, gave us a very fresh approach to this series. The characters were even more dark than we have seen before. The talented ensemble cast had a wonderful opportunity to delve into their darkest of sides and by my evaluation, took the show to even greater, if not darker, heights. Lady GaGa, who won a Golden Globe for her performance by the way, is mesmerizing as the Countess. O'Hare is flawless as the trans Liz Taylor. Bates and Paulson are riveting as always. Ryan Murphy gave us a season that kept us on the edge of our seats, leaving us literally dying for Season 6.

I've been watching AHS since it first aired. I will say it wasn't what I expected (first couple episodes) but I was hooked. Each season got better until Freak Show. When I saw Hotel and Lady Gaga I figured I was done but I gave it a shot. It is the best of all the seasons so far. It has quite a few "nods" from... Interview With A Vampire, The Shining, The Hunger. As I would watch I would look (or listen for) elements of these classic horror movies weaved into the show. The 'hotel' was really classy and was a character as is the Impala is to Supernatural. I will say this is the best of the AHS series so far

This series is great because each season is different even though some of the same actors appear in each season. They get a chance to do something different while at the same time the viewers get a chance to see something completely different. This particular season we get to see Lady Gaga. Who would have thought she would be this good!?! She is a very nasty "Queen" vampire. This entire series is not for the squeamish. Blood & gore galore. Highly recommended to all lovers of ADULT horror.

I watch all the AHS series. The first one is my favorite, then Hotel premiered. There is more happening in this hotel than The Shining to Rosemary;s Baby. Thats a lot of happenings! I am a photographer and I would suggest this series on the cinematography on its own. Kathy Bates, Denis O' Hare and Wes Bentley really need to be mentioned. And, I have no idea what prompted Max Greenfield to play his part. Yeah, I know it's fake, but come on! Poor Max!

We are continuing to buy at Best Buy because it's just a wonderful experience. The people at the store are wonderful and, of course, very helpful. A real enjoyable thing is also to buy at the stores' website. But we pledge to always continue to buy at the store and the stores' website. We simply cannot say enough on how we enjoy what my wife and I call...the Best Buy Experience. Happy Holidays to all!!!!! Tony and Susan.

This was a real great installment in this series. Extremely clever writing; sets are incredible; great photography and storytelling. I think Gaga is a bit overhyped here, but not bad, she didn't derail anything (I just imagine there are a ton of more "qualified" actors thinking, "she's in my swimming lane!") Anyhoo, great addition to the series and certainly one of the best yet!

Hotel is not as strong as previous seasons of AHS, but I still think it's one of the best shows around. The cinematography is excellent, costumes and make up are great, and the environments really pull you into the story. The actors do a fantastic job of bringing their characters to life, especially Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters. As for the bluray quality, the image is just gorgeous....colors pop, blacks are nice and inky, the lines are clean. Highly recommended for fans of the macabre!

I love this whole series and this may be my favorite. I'll say I'm NOT a fan of Lady Gaga, so that's saying a lot. She does inhabit the role perfectly. If you love vampire stuff, this is a no brainer. The writing is top notch as usual, with lots of interesting characters and twists. Jessica Lange was missed but I hear she'll be back next season.

American Horror Story (AHS) is a sort of anthology series. Each season is seemingly independent of the previous ones. AHS:Hotel carried on the tradition of adult themed horror based entertainment. Lady Gaga was far better than expected in this season, by the way. If you liked some of the other AHS seasons, this one comes highly recommended.

So I was a bit hesitant going into this season of AHS.. I mean no Jessica Lange. I was thinking that it must not be a great script if Jessica wasn't going to return. And it definitely is my least favorite season.. but it still packed in the punches.. there definitely could have been more extras on the disc.. they slacked in that dept. so Netflix it instead of buying unless you collect them.. like me.. in which case - enjoy!

This is by far the best AHS season so far, they are getting better and better. All the cast members brought there A game on this one, I hope they all win some awards for all the hard work. Denis O'Hare had the greatest performances and was the best standout of the season but Lady Gaga and Evan Peters are right up there to.

This is, so far, the last season of 'American Horror Story' that I really enjoyed. The story remained interesting and coherent with some nice surprises. Lady Gaga was actually a pleasant surprise, she commanded the scenes she was in very well.

I assume that a lot of the scenes and parts of this season of AHS were omitted on the television broadcast. It is evident in the first episode some scenes could never be shown on regular cable. That being said, it's awesome, the style and setting of AHS Hotel will not disappoint. Great Series!

Even without Lady Gaga's presence, AHS HOTEL is a stylish, slick Gothic Tale, with twists and turns aplenty. Denis O'Hare's performance as a washed up drag queen channeling Elizabeth Taylor, is superb. Lady Gaga, in her first acting role, has many great momenta as The Countess. Buy this, you'll love it.!

AHS Hotel was one of the best seasons. Matt Bomer and Lady Gaga were fantastic fitting in with the residents of the hotel. I love to see what character is playing since they are something new every season. We get to meet some great visitors to the hotel and learn about their pasts.

If you're familiar with The American Horror Story franchise then you know what to expect. Lots of murders, twists, and surprises. Some that work, some that don't. This season chronicles the history of the fictional Hotel Cortez and while not the best in the series, I still prefer the first season, definitely not the worst.

This season was crazy, but good. I think why I was really amazed by this season was cause I am not afraid to admit I am not a gaga fan. I was really surprised how well she did at her character. I am looking forward to seeing her performance in season 6.
