Classy music for punk rock lovers. No iTunes content included. But the product is worth every penny you spend on it.

There are some very successful bands that start out very basic and change little over the course of their careers. They don't experiment with avant garde silliness or increase in complexity or stray from a handful of chords and themes. Some people criticize such bands for "recording the same album over and over again" or "playing the same kind of music on every album." Even aside from the fact that a fan typically likes a band because it plays a certain style of music, why would consistency be a bad thing? What's wrong with knowing what you're going to get if you enjoy what you're going to get? Do you buy a pizza expecting it to taste like Indian curry? (Indian curry pizza actually sounds pretty good...) No. When you order a Big Mac, it's because you want a Big Mac. When you listen to Green Day, it's because you want their brand of punkish pop. If you like other releases by Green Day, you'll most likely like this one too. And, as always, play it loud.

For those who know Green Day, know that they are not only talented musicians but progressive activists. The message in this CD is not difficult to understand. But both the music and lyrics combine to make the entire CD entertaining for most age groups. Younger age groups may like the music but not understand the lyrics, so parental guidance is suggested. For 60's, 70's, and 80's rockers this would be be a great addition to your music library. The entire CD is a keeper which in this day and age is hard to find. Finally, If your "mind set" is still suck in the 20th century or before the CD lyrics are not for you.

American Idiot is the seventh studio album by American rock band Green Day, released on September 20, 2004 by Reprise Records. American Idiot charted in 27 countries, peaking at number one in 19, and eventually sold 16 million copies worldwide. The album spawned five successful singles: "American Idiot", "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", "Holiday", "Wake Me Up When September Ends" and "Jesus of Suburbia". American Idiot won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album in 2005. Don't miss it.

It's a great CD - but definitely not one to listen to just before going to bed!

Bought the CD after seeing a play of the same name. Enjoyed both.

This album won a Grammy for best album and best video of the year 2004. And if you listen to the chorus..."Welcome to a new kind of tension, all across the alien nation, where everything isn't meant to be okay" you will follow Billie Joe into a world that we have right now. American Idiot is a strong punk band sound that doesn't hold anything back. This album has attitude and grit that will remind you of past English punk.

Great CD. Awesome classic to listen to when remembering younger days.
