Excellent range. Not quite 10,000 sq ft, but good

Excellent range. Don't believe it could cover 10,000 sq ft, but better than anything else I found at this price point.

We needed a router with an extended wireless signal and this one has been great! The wireless devices in farther areas of our house have no problem connecting with this router, when the signal was too weak from our wireless modem.

I purchased this router to replace an older Netgear router/Netgear range expander setup. This router alone provides better range and a more consistent connection than my previous setup. So, initially, I was quite happy. I have a lot of wireless connections, so for added security, I use(d) MAC address filtering with my Netgear equipment. I cannot get MAC address filtering to work with the Amped router. At Amped support's suggestion, I updated the firmware, but it still does not work. Wireless performance is also inconsistent. Overall, I'm not that thrilled with this router.

Not as advertised

I have an Ausus RT_n66 wireless router and a Belkin Range extender on my second floor. I read a lot about this extender and I wanted a device that would make sure I have zero dead spots in 1st floor and outside the house.
Some said set up was hard! I found out straightforward if you follow the instruction provided. A bit easier I thought than my Belkin.
After less than a month of testing:
1. Device did extend the range but not as advertised (so I kept my Belkin connected - yes I was hoping to disconnect it)
2. After 2 weeks I noticed my internet slow! Of course I contacted my provider, not thinking problem is with my device.
What I found out from my testing, when I take Amped off line my internet speed off ASUS alone and ASUS with Belkin repeater stays at 30Mb download and 3Mb upload, as soon as I connect Amped my download speed drops to 15Mb if I'm lucky with most times hovers at 3Mb! Upload doesn't change.
You guessed it, I'm returning this device and I will stick with my Belkin N600.
I would recommend you buy the Belkin as it is dual band and cost $40 less

Very underwhelmed with this range extender. Worked well for a year then started becoming a constant problem. Not worth the $120 I originally paid for it. Setup was easy, but its reliability sucks.
