With kinds who pull hard on cords and often take plugs out of the walls, being able to see the LED light on the front makes it easy for my youngest to ensure his device is charging.

It does not "juice" up my iPhone and my iPad more quickly, and it's not so much larger in size to be a bother when I travel. Highly recommended.
