Customers are saying

Customers commend the Soundcore Rave Partycast Portable Bluetooth Speaker for its exceptional sound quality, particularly the bass and treble, and long battery life. Its loud volume, water resistance, and fun light show are also frequently praised, along with its portability and ease of use. However, some users point out that the charging cable is not a standard USB type, and that the speaker, while portable, is relatively large. Overall, the positive feedback on sound, battery, and features outweighs the concerns about the charging port and size.

BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT: Anker continues to humble its competition by offering premium performance at a value-oriented price with its new Soundcore Rave Partycast BT speaker. The Rave Partycast does pretty much everything a portable party speaker should...it plays loud, clear, deep, long, is impervious to splashes and other liquid-related accidents, and adds in some fun RGB lighting just to keep things lively--DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED. PROs: - Excellent, full-bodied sound that matches, and even bests, some of the competition costing more than twice as much. We've set it head-to-head against the outstanding performance of the Sony SRS-XB501G and found the Anker to come out on top in terms of sound quality, especially clarity in bass and mid-bass when played back at higher volumes - Loud enough for sound to carry across a large pool/backyard without distorting during playback--the BassUp setting and added passive radiator at the back really adds some nice heft to the lower registers that makes for a fun and engaging listening experience--even if the speaker is just a bit too small to pump out the bass beats that can rattle your rib cage. Vocals and acoustic guitars are lively and clear without becoming too sibilant or harsh, especially when the volume creeps up past 75% or more - Rubberized feet on the side and bottom give you the option for vertical or horizontal placement; add in the ruggedized feeling texture and the design feels suited to the beach, poolside or patio without leaving you worried about marring the finish if you want to set it down on the sidewalk or pavement...there's even a threaded tripod adapter on the bottom if you've got the itch to mount these mid-air or higher - All inputs and the DC charging/power socket are covered by a THICK, tethered, waterproof rubber panel that sits flush inside a recess on the back panel; the IPX7 rating of the entire enclosure means the speaker is rated against full submersion in water. Now, we didn't chuck our speaker into the pool to verify this claim, but it continued to play unabated even after some--"aggressive" splashing courtesy of our youngest daughter. Suffice it to say, you can confidently use this party speaker at the beach or poolside, or in an area where "errant drink splashing" from your guests might be a risk - Soundcore app is a bit more complete than some companion apps we've seen for other BT speakers...use it to customize the LED/light show presets (there are 5 to start with), EQ and bass settings, switch sound-sources on the fly (i.e. go from BT to USB or AUX), play DJ (complete with scratch and drum sound effects as well as manual LED/light control), adjust sleep/power-down settings, and even use the speaker to provide lights and accompanying sound effects for some...ahem...party games (spin the bottle, truth or dare, or timed word games). I honestly can't see anyone seriously using the party game feature very often, and the light DJ function is probably more compelling if you have multiple speakers strewn about and connected via Partycast (Anker claims you can link up to 100 Partycast speakers at once--yikes!) to amplify the sound and light effects, but the app controls seem complete enough to let you do what you would want to with a party speaker without a lot of constant attention/intervention required - Soft-touch, no-profile buttons on the panel underneath the ergonomic carrying handle give you complete control over power, BT connection, bass boost, lighting, Partycast connections to other speakers, volume & playback controls and even access to Google/Siri--and again, because the entire shell is waterproof, you can confidently skip tracks or adjust playback volume poolside without having to worry about finding a towel to dry off first...definitely a plus if you want to make adjustments on the fly without fumbling for your phone - Anker claims battery life up to 18 hours...I honestly don't think that's an unreasonable expectation. We used our Rave Partycast poolside every afternoon for a week in a combination of LED/music and music-only configurations and the battery indicator still showed at least 1/4 charge on the battery. While we haven't let it play continuously to full discharge, this speaker should easily last you through an all-afternoon/night get-together on a single charge, even playing loudly and with lots of LED effects for good measure. Oh, and if you absolutely can't find an outlet or wall charger, the USB port on the back of the Rave Partycast will even keep your phone's battery charged up and topped off while it's connected--NICE! CONs: - The rubber feet that accommodate two different speaker orientations are definitely appreciated, but they barely raise the speaker off the ground...setting the speaker on very rough or very uneven surfaces (bricks, gravel, etc.) still means a good portion of the plastic shell is sitting on hard/craggy items. Yes, the ruggedized plastic finish feels like it can take a little punishment, but slightly more ground clearance would have been appreciated to help keep the speaker looking its absolute best - Remember, this is a PARTY speaker, it is not meant for critical listening (or even stereo, for that matter). Nevertheless, there seemed to be just a bit of hollowness in the mids when playing particularly bassy music (EDM, metal, etc.). But it wasn't that the bass was unnaturally accentuated or bloated, only that bass reproduction seemed to take priority over some of the other frequencies during particularly complex passages, especially those with many multi-layered instruments and vocals all vying for attention at the same time. However, in a party-type or poolside environment, or even just outside of a perfectly quiet bedroom or office where you could really concentrate solely on the music, I honestly don't think anyone would much notice or perhaps even care - It would be really nice if the wall-wart power supply and DC power port was replaced with a USB-C charger and onboard USB-C port; USB-C connectivity and chargers are becoming far more commonplace now, but rather than being able to leverage our growing collection of USB-C cables and chargers (many of which were made by Anker!) that are already lying all over the house/car, we have yet another dedicated power supply we'll have to keep track of...

ANKER - SOUNDCORE RAVE PARTYCAST PORTABLE BLUETOOTH SPEAKER Built well, Waterproof and up up 18 hours battery life. Nice options for a Bluetooth party speaker. Feels like it is built well and it easy to carry. I have used it in the back yard and on the boat and have yet to charge it. So battery life is great.. you will get a whole day of this speaker. When compared to a unit I own that is over 2x the cost I found the sound of the Rave is a little ‘hollow’. Vocals were actually better than the more expensive unit though. Once I tweaked the custom EQ settings I was able to get them pretty close. The bass may have been a little less on the Rave, but still good. The Bluetooth range is good as well. I have a fairly large yard and could walk anywhere without any connection issues. Set up was normal for any Bluetooth speaker.. No issues. Once connected, you should download the Soundcore app to get all the following options” Light control - EQ settings - Bass up - Play / Pause music - Light DJ (Manually effect lights, play sounds like drums. scream, etc.) - Party Games (spin the bottle with sound effects) As mentioned above, the EQ settings are a nice feature to dial in the sound. If you are an audiophile, then I suggest you go listen to it and compare to make sure it fits your needs. I will say that if you get two of these (or a compatible speaker) to connect together you will have amazing sound. This is where the Partycast technology shines. I was actually able to run dual Bluetooth mode from my S20 phone and it sounded fantastic. The speaker even has a tripod mount on the bottom, So I can imagine putting 1 of these on each side of the party area and you would have a great sounding party. Pros: Great Battery life Durable Bluetooth Range Volume Lice light control options Con: Charging cable (Not standard USB) Overall, I will say this speaker is a good bang for the buck.

FUN LOUD OUTDOOR LIGHTED PARTY SPEAKER W/SOUNDCORE ANKER - SOUNDCORE RAVE PARTYCAST PORTABLE BLUETOOTH SPEAKER - BLACK MODEL:25890VRP Best Buy Tech Insider Network REVIEW: The ANKER - SOUNDCORE RAVE PARTYCAST PORTABLE BLUETOOTH SPEAKER can get very loud and definitely punches above its weight at 80 Watts total output. It is very sturdy, and very well built, and the lights are a fun twist. The Soundcore App even lets you play party games with the speaker and lights. (Spin the bottle, Truth or Dare, etc). It was easy to use and easy to pair with Bluetooth phones, alexa, etc. I also like that it has an analog wired input. One cool feature that I was not able to test (with only one unit) is ability to pair and additional 1 or more speakers to fill the entire room or yard with sound. With 18 hour battery life and waterproofing, I would have no issue recommending this to anyone looking for loud outdoor fun. PRO’s - Waterproof - Fun Lights and App - Long Battery - Solid Construction If I had a few wishes. I would like if it had a standard USB-C port for input / charging, instead of a dedicated power supply. The power cord also has the plugs (prongs) in a weird spot which means it overlaps up both outlets. The prongs are centered in the middle of the charging brick instead of on the edge. Audiophile comments: The Sound is OK, and can be fine tuned via the app with a fully customizable equalizer settings (instead of only few presets as are on some other units). By playing with the Equalizer I can push the speaker from OK to PRETTY GOOD. It does not compare to higher end units that cost 2X to 3X, but overall, it is PRETTY GOOD. Chances are if you are rocking out in your back yard or at the beach this is not something you will notice. I assume the speaker will relax after some break in, but out of the box the sound is a bit muffled. RECOMMENDATION If you want a powerful, fun, and affordable wireless speaker, the ANKER - SOUNDCORE RAVE PARTYCAST PORTABLE BLUETOOTH SPEAKER is worth a serious hard look. Like any speakers, I really suggest you try them out for yourself in your planned listening environment to find the one that best meets your overall listening needs.

Just what I needed to celebrate the return of summer. My Soundcore Rave Partycast pairs easily via Bluetooth with my cellphone or iPad as well as other devices. Amazing sound and deep bass from the large front speakers. Awesome lights surround the speaker ports with a choice of colors set via the Anker App. I was shocked to see you can link over 100 devices for a party as big as your space allows! Can you imagine the celebration? Taking this to the beach or on a picnic is no hassle thanks to its light weight. And the music plays forever with the built in batteries. I can power my cellphone off the built in USB power port. No wires to Bluetooth's rock solid connection.

Affordable Party Speaker / Booming Sound

This is one serious booming speaker that packs a lot of bass. It’s actually one of the better party speakers I have tested in recent years and was quite fun to use. I haven’t yet to test Party Cast but I assume it works fine if you have multiple speakers connected. I do have a Soundcore Flare and not a Flare 2. I can tell you now everything you looking for a party speaker is pretty much here. This is a true wireless Bluetooth party speaker due to the fact you can unplug this and take it with you on the go, it has its own battery and can charge mobile devices with the USB port in the back of the speaker. This is Anker and their backup battery packs are usually great but now it’s in a speaker. There is also an AUX port on the back as well. There is a booming sound that can reach a wide range. My initial test was at a barbecue with family just to see if it can hold its own with battery life. There is a feature called “BassUp” technology; this speaker is extremely bass-heavy and if you are a fan of bass these are it. The best part is the bass feature didn’t drain the battery life rapidly. Even at the loudest and bass cranked up; it lasted my entire outing. The sound is phenomenal and I love it you can hear everything from the speaker and I don’t know what it is but the bass just rattles the entire area for the size they are. Really I would love to see multiple Rave Part cast speakers together. It’s perfect for what I listen to. You can also have it near water activity and it’s IPX7 giving you peace of mind when water gets on this thing. I haven’t dunk this in the pool but I can say it lasted fine with splashes around. Design-wise it’s pretty much nice. It’s in line with most modern party speakers. RGB lighting up for me never gets old, definitely a head-turner. Perhaps my favorite feature of the speakers is the RGB lights for Rave-like moments. Most likely to look cool paired up with multiple of them, giving an awesome rave look. Sony party speakers at one point used plastic and strobe lighting which easily cracked. Herewith Soundcore none of that is a worry Because the design was meant for a bit of ruggedness. There is an app that Soundcore provides that gives you a wide range of options. You can do equalizers for the indoor/outdoor. The app is clean and speedy. There is a party feature where are you can play truth or dare, change the lighting on the speakers, and DJ the lighting. Don’t want to use the app you can just use Bluetooth just for the music itself which works absolutely great. The speaker is black, thick, and colorful. It looks really good near any other RGB‘s you may have in the room. Looks better if many other PartyCast speakers were with it but I love it. I also think that the pricing that’s pretty much affordable for a speaker like this. You really are getting a lot for your buck here; I think the features set is totally it. If you go into a party grab the speaker, throw it in the car, and have fun where ever you go.

Anker’s Soundcore Rave Partycast Portable Bluetooth Speaker is a serious challenger to the more well known competitors in the party speaker category. It gets loud. It sounds wonderful. If you can navigate the Soundcore App, you can fully customize how your Soundcore Rave sounds. It plays nicely with other Anker Partycast speakers, meaning it can fill a larger space with a lot more sound, when they are linked together. It has a light show to add to the atmosphere. And, it sure beats out the competition with its super long name. SETUP: Getting the Soundcore Rave up and running is fairly intuitive right out of the box. Around the back of this shortened tree-trunk sized brute of a speaker is a rubber cover hiding the DC charging port. Power comes from a proprietary charging brick, so keep it safe. [Generic replacements can usually be found and Anker is known for decent support.] The PartyCast is not light; consider it an exercise opportunity. The speakers control panel is on top or at the right side depending on how you orient the speaker. The Bluetooth connection to my iPhone was fairly fast after I powered up. Looking clockwise at the controls, starting at 12 o’clock with the power button, you will find the Bluetooth indicator, the PartyCast (for initiating a link to other Soundcore speakers), Skip Forward,Volume Up, Pause, Volume Down, Skip Back, Light Mode (those speaker lights dance to a few different lighting patterns), and lastly, Bass Boost. The APP: Soundcore has an (eventually) useful App. (for both iOS and Android; I use an iPhone 12.) I really tried to find instructions for the App after a few random guesses at how it works. You may have better luck. The App can be confusing; it needs instructions. At first I was sure I was limited to using the App to play the oddest collection of pre-selected playlists (the DISCOVERY MODE). Nope. Any any point while in the App, go to your music player and get YOUR music playing. Come back to this App to play with its features. Here’s how I think I got to the useful stuff. Find your DEVICE on the opening page of the APP and select it. If you’ve got the 4 box upper left corner, select it. Always elect MY DEVICES, select yours, then select DEVICE SETTINGS. As soon as you can, go into the lower left human icon, and in that (other) settings menu, TURN OFF “DISCOVERY FUNCTION”. You’ll thank me. Now I can play my music with a suite of adjustments I make to a multi-band equalizer. Slide over to another of the App’s pages where you’ll find a disk jockey’s control panel for playing with the lights and adding a collection of sound effects, I like it. But I still get lost, or trapped, or confused. C’mon Anker, the App has useful features. Make it easier for dummies like me. PERFORMANCE: This is a great sounding, high quality speaker. I set up a comparison of several well known branded speakers I own, only to discover that my memory of how good those others sounded was wrong. The Anker Soundcore comes very close to the best competitors with its bass. Its mid-range/treble sound quality is better than my comparisons. In fact, it’s the one speaker that I believe would satisfy the widest range of listeners because it sounds more natural with a broader range of music styles. With the equalizer in the App, you can modify the sound to your liking. SUMMARY: Like I said early on, I like the speaker a lot. It compares favorably with the best of the in-your-face, all-out party speakers. It’s gotta get loud, and it definitely gets loud. But, I also like my party speaker to add music to an outside pool day, and sound honest and natural in the process. The Anker Soundcore can be sound-shaped to deliver an accurate sound that really impresses. I could almost praise the App, but it needs more work so it invites users to explore its great features. Anker's Soundcore Rave Partycast throws a great party.

This thing thumps for being somewhat compact. Anker has always been a good name for small chargers and small electronics. This Bluetooth party speaker is a great idea. Setup was a snap. Download the app from Google play and connected in less than 3 mins. App has really really fun and cool controls like dj light and scratching and funny announcement. Also game party is fun too. Lights and options are good as well. Different modes are easy to select and nice to see. Sound quality his great. Mid range and bass are good. High is distinct with tweeter. The unit is a little heavy but no complaints with the battery life and sound. This thing can also charge your other mobile devices if you need to. Back to Ankers fame. Comes with headphone jack of you need that too. This thing is great and flashy with the led lights. Really great product. I did not have another one of these so I was unable to test the link feature to other rave products. Nice Anker.

I wouldn’t say this is the best sounding Bluetooth speaker I have ever had, but it’s not bad either. I actually really like the shape and handling of this speaker as it felt more like carrying a large Thermos instead of a clunky sound system, like some I have had. The crazy thing is, this is made like a small outdoor event speaker with a ¼” tripod thread in the bottom of it as well. With the capability to party cast up to a 100 of these together, you could truly set up an event with a bunch of wireless speakers and your Bluetooth connected device. I only have one, so I can’t attest to how well that works. Straight out of the box it is like every other Bluetooth device to connect to. Simple to pair and start playing whatever you desire to play to it. The buttons on top are easy to use and control the volume, play/pause, skip and activate voice functions of the connected device. You can also change the lighting pattern and enable/disable the bass boost. However, using the Anker Soundcore app is where you get even more control over these settings. With the app you can change audio settings through an equalizer, change the light settings to various colors and patterns or even play like you're a DJ making the lights react to your command and add in some sound effects. There is also a “Party Games” tab, but it is essentially just a wheel that lets you add players and spin while it plays a “spin” sound effect through the speaker and displays the result on your device. You can play truth or dare, spin the bottle or get categories that you ask a player, such as “2 movie titles” that they have 5 seconds to name. The battery life claims 18 hours, but this is truly dependent on usage. At max volume with beat reactive lights I was under 50% battery in about 5 hours, so it might have made it 8-9 hours at that rate. I’m sure at a more moderate listening volume without the lights you could get the 18 hours listed. It is kind of a shame that it uses a specific DC adapter instead of the more common USB formats as now you will need to keep that handy for recharge. However, it does have a USB-A port and an Aux port for direct connections of devices that don’t have Bluetooth. Overall, this is a loud and fun speaker. Great for bringing the party along with you wherever you are. With it being IPX7 water resistant, you shouldn’t have to worry about it getting splashed when near the pool or out on a boat. Just charge it up and enjoy music wherever you go.

I picked up the Anker Soundcore Rave to take to the beach this year. It did not make it in time and I’m not sure if it’s a bad thing. The Rave has a waterproof rating of IPX7 which means that it has been tested for waterproofing and as long as it is not under water for more than 30 minutes at 1 meter of water, it should function properly. This does not imply that your device would survive waves crashing on it or a strong stream of water spraying it. It just means that if it drops in the pool, you should be able to retrieve it and it will still function. The X position in the rating covers the devices protection from Dust. The X implies that there is no testing information against dust. I guess sand would be included in that. The lights on the device blink, strobe, cycle and turn off. I’m not saying I’m old, but I’m glad the lights cut off on the machine or on the app. The Soundcore app has a lot of features from controlling the device basic settings, but also has an equalizer with preset settings or custom settings. There is also a Bass up button, light modes, party games and a Light DJ screen. The sound quality is exceptional, sounds great from AC/DC to Jimmy Hendrix and from NWA to Chanel West Coast. The Rave also features being able to use up to 100 devices at the same time. I might try two but 100 dang. You can stand the Rave up or turn it on its side, there is also a built-in tripod adaptor, when you want to raise it up. It states that it can play up to 18 hours on one charge, I have not tested this, but I have only charged it once this week with listening to it a couple of hours a day. The Rave also can charge your phone, make calls and your notification sound will play on the device. At the cost of the Rave, I will probably order another one.

    Loud and clear

This thing gets loud. I think that and the LEDs are what set it apart, it is a fun speaker to have outside where you don’t have to worry about if it starts to rain or other random water issues, you could even accidently drop it in a pool and not have an issue as long as you have the port cover in place. I took it down to a road that will eventually have new houses on it and tested the loudness because my neighbor asked me to turn it down before I even got to full loudness. What I found is about 33 yards you can still feel the beat and it sounds crystal clear, further back you start losing the beat a little but I could still hear voices clearly it even from 150 yards away. On the other side, once you get about 10 feet from the speaker the bass gets a fuzzy. So basically this is for outdoor use and sounds nice when you’re not directly next to the speaker. Which is exactly what it advertises itself as, a party speaker for the outdoors. I tried a couple of different phones, my moto razr 5G could get about 15 feet away before the Bluetooth started failing but my Note 5G could get 30 yards away, what this tells me is the Bluetooth antenna in this speaker isn’t insanely good, but it is alright. So you need an excellent Bluetooth antenna in your smartphone to pair with it (Samsung, LG, apple, etc) if you want to use your phone from a distance. There is also an Aux option as well as a USB port to keep your phone charged that you are running the music from. The app that you can download allows you to customize the EQ and has three presets: outdoor, indoor, and beat. The outdoor does really good outdoors (surprising right) but you can also do customized settings too. Beat sounds good outdoors as well. I liked the handle on the top as well, I was able to easily grab it and go on my one wheel. On the bottom it has what looks like a 5/8” ¼ thread for mounting to some stands (I can’t fully confirm this as I don’t have this stand but I can confirm this isn’t the normal camera sized one). Overall, I am quite happy with this speaker and it servers its purpose perfectly.

When I first received the package for the Partycast speaker, I was a little intimidated as the box is HUGE. The speaker itself is reasonably sized and has absolutely outstanding sound! Pros: - OUTSTANDING, almost unbelievably good sound - Lots and lots of bass (sorry neighbors!) - Super easy and fast to set up - Ability to link multiple speakers together - Terrific battery life - Interesting light patterns based on the music - Charges phone/iPad while it plays! Cons: none! After using this speaker for a few days both indoors and outdoors, I really cannot find any faults with it. If you are looking for an awesome sounding (and awesome looking) speaker with mega-bass and great flexibility, this is your pick! Super powerful, great sound, great price. I recommend this!

The Anker Soundcore Rave brings the party whenever and wherever you want. It has some heft to it, but that makes it feel solid and well built and the handle makes it easy to bring it with you. On the sound front it delivered with all genres I listen to from Jason Aldean to Coldplay. When it comes to bass, it doesn’t deliver big bass but it’s a small speaker. Placing the speaker against a wall or solid object will make the bass more pronounced. The app has EQ controls and allows you to change the lights and cut them on and off. You also can turn the speaker off with the app which is nice as some Bluetooth speakers don’t have this ability. With reverse charging you can charge your device while streaming. The Soundcore Rave delivers great sound for a portable speaker with a price that doesn’t break the bank.

Even just the box itself speaks volumes as to how fun and fantastic of an experience one will have with this portable Bluetooth speaker. Colorful and engaging pictures and highlights of its features cover the box, testifying to the coolness and wow factor. In the box you’ll find the speaker, power cord and instructions. The instructions are extremely brief—a few pictures and no words for directions. But that’s okay, because you can download the Anker Soundcore App and it’s all you need to utilize all the impressive and entertaining features packed into this speaker. The speaker itself is a perfect size for portability, a hefty size that allows it to have an absolutely booming sound while being not too bulky or heavy. There is a very convenient handle that arcs over the controls, which are housed in a rubber type material that sits concave to the handle. The controls light up and have a nice firm click feel when pressed. There are rubber feet both on the opposite end of the handle and on one of the long sides, so you can choose to place the speaker either standing up tall or placed on its side. There is an opening on one side that houses inputs for aux, USB-A charging (so you can charge your phone or any other device with the speaker!), and the power cord/charging cable that charges up the speaker itself. At full charge, Anker says that the speaker can last up to 18 hours. These ports are all covered with a rubber cover that firmly pushes into place like a seal, because yes, the speaker is also waterproof (rated IPX7). The sound is just incredible—you’d never believe how extremely loud you can turn up the volume. We were blown away (almost literally) when we tried it out the first time. There is even a specific button/feature to turn on a bass boost that cranks up the bass to wall-shaking, wall-vibrating heights. But the best feature, aside from the amazing sound quality of course, is the “beat driven light show” that is just so fun and cool to watch. You can also elect to turn off the light show anytime. But to take advantage of all the exciting features, it is best to download the free Anker Soundcore App. This unleashes the true power and versatility of this speaker. You can use the app as a remote control to manage the speaker functions instead of pressing the physical buttons on the speaker itself. But within the app there are just so many other features to access, such as my favorite—to change up the light show and customize it however you want, in what seems like limitless ways (it’s called the “Light DJ”). This controls the lights and there is even an added sound effect library. There’s a “Light Effect” function where you can choose different preset themed effects as well, such as “Party Time”, “Bouncing Beats”, “Phasing Beats” and “Circle Beam”. But that’s not all—the app also provides an equalizer to tailor the sound output to your individual tastes, with a few preset themes (Outdoor, Indoor, and “Bang”), and the option to customize it, too. And there are even fun party games provided in the app. So while the speaker itself has the ultimate important quality of having excellent, exceptional sound, with the added fun and engaging entertainment value of the colorful light show, the app really brings it all together with the abundance of added features provided. This isn’t some simple, boring, run-of-the-mill Bluetooth speaker. It’s truly way beyond that as a high-quality, high-Wow Factor speaker.

    Perfect Speaker for the Summer!

Anker is known for making quality electronics at a great price and this Rave Partycast speaker does not miss. It sounds good, gets LOUD, is easy to carry, is water resistant, lasts 18 hours, and even floats! For me, it’s pretty much the perfect speaker for the Summer, because I can take it out to the pool, beach, lake, or boat, and not have to worry about getting it wet or going overboard. I really love that Anker made it buoyant, because I’m looking for a speaker that I can take on a boat but am scared of accidentally dropping it in the water and sinking (like many other things before it). This alleviates that concern, with the additional peace of mind of the IPX7 waterproof rating, so I won’t worry about getting it wet either. Aside from being great for the water, it also includes some features that really make it shine as a go to speaker. Long story short, if you’re looking for a portable bluetooth speaker to take to the beach, lake, cookouts, camping, worksite, or just about anywhere really, I highly recommend the Anker Rave. SOUND This thing gets LOUD. It’s labeled as an 80 watt system and I believe it. Most of the time, indoors or outdoors, I’m just past the halfway volume mark and I’m not a soft listener. I’ve never had it all the way up, because it’s already too loud before I get there. One speaker can handle most indoor rooms with ease, and it does a great job by itself outside on the deck. The volume gets loud and clear with enough thump to feel like a party. If sound quality is your thing, I’d turn off the “Bass Up” feature, which really just maxes out the low end of the EQ. Which is honestly kind of cheesy, but also surprisingly useful. I like the extra bass when I’m outside or partying with a lot of people, so it’s nice to be able to turn it on and off with a quick button press. It’s likely not going to win any sound quality awards, but it does sound good. And it gets super loud without distorting, which is a bigger priority when I’m outside anyway. There’s also a customizable EQ in the Soundcore app to help tailor the sound to how you like it. DESIGN Anker really put some thought into this speaker and it shows. I love the built-in handle on top which makes it easy to carry around. It’s only 7lbs, which is light to me, but I guess that’s all relevant. It has feet to keep it standing or placed on it’s side, a thread on the bottom for mounting it to a speaker stand, is pretty compact, and is built with a clean, modern aesthetic. Carrying it by the handle, I can’t help but think about the boomboxes I used to have back in the day. Except this is a lot more convenient, especially with 18 hours of battery life on a single charge. The lights are really cool too, which are also customizable in the Soundcore app. I thought they were gimmicky at first, putting them in a dark room changed my mind. They’re fun and definitely add to that party atmosphere. You can even “DJ” the lights, which my nephew had fun playing with. Apparently, you can also wirelessly sync up to 100 other Anker Partycast speakers together, making setup a breeze when you need speakers in multiple locations. A few of these on stands, with the lights going off, and you got yourself a pretty decent party setup. It also includes a USB port to charge your phone and devices in case you’re in a pinch. Again, perfect portable speaker for the Summer.

Anker Soundcore Rave Partycast blows me away. Honestly, I had no idea Anker made speakers. I knew them more for their external batteries, but their speaker game is on point! Unboxing the speaker was a fairly typical experience. Nothing fancy. The speaker is a lot bigger and heavier than I thought it would be. For the amount of power it packs, it makes sense. Before I tested everything out, I made sure the speaker was fully charged. The charger that comes with the speaker is proprietary. It is not USB or USB-C or micro-USB so make sure you do not lose it. I am sure there are third party or knockoff chargers that you could fit, but I always feel that you never get the same performance as the OEM chargers. Once it was fully charged, pairing to my phone was superfast with no problems. In regards to the sound quality, I was SHOCKED. These performed just as well or even better than some of the more known brands in the speaker game. The bass was on point and you can even increase it with the Bass Boost. Mids and highs were very crisp as well. There was little to no distortion at high volumes. These speaker are extremely well balanced out of the box. If you want to tweak the EQ settings, then you can do so via the app! You want to add some extra ambience, pressing the lights button will give you that light show. You can play with the light patterns in the app. Some other features that are underrated. IPX7 means it is waterproof. Bring it to the pool or in light rain without worry. The partycast feature is also super cool! I actually did not know my brother had an Anker speaker too. We linked them together and got twice the sound! It actually was really cool to output to two Bluetooth speakers. Battery life really is long. It is supposedly 18 hours. I just know that it took a long time before I had to charge it. So many companies have accompanying apps that are confusing and/or useless. Anker’s is a bit on the former side. It is extremely useful as you can customize the EQ. It does require a bit of a learning curve and I would say its not immediately user-friendly. Once you get used to it, it really is one of the better apps that accompany Bluetooth speakers. All in all, I love this speaker. This is definitely my new go-to speaker. It has great sound and features. The user friendliness of the app is the biggest weakness, but it is still one of the more feature-packed apps.

So... we got this to use on our pontoon boat. The stereo in the boat was never any good, and we were just looking for a modern solution. So off the bat, this has some heft to it. not light, doesn't just get wicked away. But is very stable. In any position. Horizonal or vertical, works great. The sounds is seriously clear. good deep base for this type of unit, and get very loud. Loud enough to compensate for the noise of the outboard motor on the boat. Piece of cake to connect to the phone using standard blue tooth mechanism. So far haven't even got it to drop below the 2nd power dot, and that is running it for several hours a day over the weekend. Water resistant which is fantastic. As for the lights, really don't see them in the daylight, maybe in the evening... but almost non existent to us during the day. The ONLY thing I found so far as a negative, is that it uses a proprietary adapter for charging. I wish it would have used a USB-C or some other commonly available format, and not it's own dedicated adapter. Especially from Anker, which I have many of their cables and adapters for already

I've been using the new Soundcore Rave Partycast for a week or so and have been very impressed! We have had gatherings nearly every night and I never fail to get questions about this speaker. The lights get people's attention, but then the sound quality really grabs them. Although marketed as portable, the Rave is anything but small. It has quite a bit of heft and a sizable footprint. The built-in handle makes moving it a breeze though and being able to stand it on the end lets it take up less patio or deck space. The big size is accompanied by a lot of sound. I mean, this thing gets loud. But it stays clean at higher volumes. The waterproof design means I don't have to worry about kids splashing it at the pool or if the rain comes up unexpectedly. Overall, I really like this speaker and will definitely be getting more to utilize the linking feature to spread the sound to all corners of my property. I'm sure the neighbors will love me!
