Before all of the scandals, there was Annie Hall. Showcasing Allen in all of his goofy, sad sack glory, combined with a young Diane Keaton, this is definitely a classic. The only Woody Allen film that I like better than this one is Love & Death, which sadly, I can't seem to locate on Region 1 Blu Ray.

I bought this Blu-ray of “Annie Hall” recently after a bunch of classic movies from 20th Century Fox went on sale at Best Buy. Glad I did, not only because of the price, but because this is one of the few great cinematic romantic comedies. If you can score a similar deal, do it—it’s totally worth it.

Annie Hall is a brilliant combination of comedy, romance, neuroses. This Allen movie has it all. And Keaton creates a character for all time. Such good stuff here.

bar none. Funniest and more thoughtful than most of his previous work, and never drab or depressing like his later 80's "dark" phase.

Considering the age of the film, I think this movie looks and sounds as good on blu-ray as it possibly can given the source. The movie itself is, of course, a Woody Allen classic in all of the expected ways. It's smart, funny, intellectual and like many (not all) of his other films, I love it. Just because it's on blu-ray however, don't expect miracles. It's still an old film with a mono audio track source.

I heard a lot about this movie when it first came out over 40 years ago. It didn’t meet my expectations of a “great movie”.
