So the video they showed when this was announced looks way better than the game itself but other than that it's pretty fun. The story is kinda all over the place and I lose what is going on at times but the gameplay with friends makes up for it. Got nothing to play and/or a game your waiting for; this can be played while waiting for it.

Fun gameplay wrapped in a confusing story with long load times and unnecessary multiplayer trappings.

I have been playing this off and on. I enjoy the game. Though after some point you seem to lose your way on what is going on or what to do next. You stop talking with people. The missions, contracts, and strongholds are rinse and reuse. You seem to get the same drops every time. I get a new upgrade (if I am lucky) about once every 5-10 missions and that is being generous. Do not get me wrong, I have had games you have to grind for gear, but this one seems to take it to a whole new level. I enjoy flying around and seeing the world that is out there. It is fun to smash stuff or blow it off the surface of the world. I try to work on stuff as I do this. I have bought a few armor sets and such to make it a bit more fun. Grinding money for that stuff takes some time for the casual gamer, but you feel like you earned it.

A lot of Game Reviews are crushing Anthem. I think it's a lot of fun and will only get better. Flying around like Iron Man is a blast and the amount of firepower you can bring from the various suits is equally as fun. Playing with your friends makes this a great time had by all.

If you consider Anthem to be a Destiny replacement, you're probably going to be blindsided and disappointed by the lack of content. Bioware's latest shooty RPG is good fun for a good 20 hours, but it is definitely not ready to be a long-term SERVICE game.

While Anthem has a lot of potential to be a great game it ultimately falls flat. The gameplay, javelin customization, and graphics are all great but the game fails at compelling storytelling and rewarding players with decent loot. With enough patches and the upcoming DLC, this game could be much better in the future but as of right now it leaves a lot to be desired.

I got Anthem last minute as my friends kept bugging me to. I am glad they did as I really enjoy this game. I can tell it is made to be used as a platform and be supported over time as all games are moving towards now. This game had bad press in the begining due to the bugs and server issues. I have had the game crash twice since day one but has been fine ever since. I had a friend that it crashed there PS4 but the update has been released to fix it. Overall the game is a first person shooter with aspects of a RPG. It reminds me of Destiny but the hub world isnt as good. EA promised more content so it should get better. If the game doesn't have more content before April, I think I may be done with it as I'm about done with the story. I hope this gives you a honest opinion of the game and helps you make a smart purchase.

Core gameplay is fun. Major problem right now is the same with most game as a service titles. This is definitely one to keep an eye on a few months down the line when more content is released. Not as bad as the internet makes it out to be.

Anthem was pretty fun to play at first but it kinda got boring after a couple of hours of playing. Flying around the maps is fun but it seems like EA was trying to make Anthem like Destiny but they failed. Good game overall though.

I love Bioware, but they've let me down over the past few games (Mass Effect and Dragon Age), and again here. I had high expectations for their games and while they didn't deliver, it still has really fun mechanics. I don't care much for story, so if you're a story person, it's about as strong a story as the first Destiny. I REALLY, REALLY like the mechanics though - a lot of professional reviewers say it's like someone made a great Iron Man game. I enjoy teaming up to take down enemies, especially the large ones. It's fun to be able to jump in free play mode and fly around take out the baddies. It definitely has its kinks. I wish I would have gotten The Division 2 instead, but my nephews wanted to play this with me so I got it. Still am OK with my purchase. Sounds like they're working on improving the game and they have the money and talent to do it. If you can only buy one game for a while, don't make it this game, but if you've got some extra cash and don't want to play any other games out there, maybe give this a try. It does not feel like a Bioware game though, so don't buy it because of the bioware name.

The game is fun and BioWare is doing great on sending out fixes for the bugs. It needs work for sure and had a few issues, but so far I'm having fun with it. Only time will tell if they can keep improving the game.

Lots of people bashing this game with never touching it. Game looks beautiful in 4k and the gameplay is excellent. No bugs that Ive encountered other than a few crashes. Put about 90 hours in so far.

Despite all the negative reviews this game has received it's quite fun. Yes the game does freeze and disconnect from server from time to time and yes most missions are the same. And yes, you can get through the story in about 20-30 hours with little incentive to keep playing since there is little endgame content. But at the end of the day I had a great time with it and look forward to updates and DLC that I know is coming. If you played and enjoyed Destiny this is definitely worth a look as that was pretty rough at launch too. But also like Destiny I'm pretty sure this game price will quickly drop to $20-30. So maybe wait for that and by then hopefully the bugs will all be worked out.

Graphs are awesome and the transition from flying to running or swimming is very nice. Still has a lot of bugs and needs more end game content, but it has the potential to be an awesome game.

    Despite negative press...

Despite negative coverage that I've seen since release, they've been working hard to bring updates and fix a lot of issues, and it's actually really fun to play, especially with friends. Word has it they've gotten rid of some of the "Upper Echelon" who had negatively impacted the direction this game and they're bringing a huge update in the future to breath new life and completely rework entire facets of the game. (Players call it Anthem 2.0/Anthem Next) After the introduction missions and you reach level 2 you'll be able to select 1 of 5 different Javelins. You'll be stuck with that until you reach level 8, so I recommend you check out some youtube videos on the choices before you commit. It's not bad as long as you like your choice. I'd recommend using a headset and turning on Voice to Text(transcribes for players that don't have headsets) so you can communicate with your party outside of the 5 default text strings. The community isn't toxic like some games, and everyone is pretty cool. Mostly adults, but there are some kids on here so don't bring any toxicity to it either please. The game will automatically try to pair you up with other players in groups of up to four, but you can join the PSN community or hang out in the launch bay to connect and party up with others for a more effective team to take on harder difficulties to maximize experience and loot. Though if you find a good team I would use the PSN party features and not rely solely on the game, as it's communication is limited, only letting you communicate in prep or javelin gameplay, not loading screens or menus. Brass tacks; The UI outside of javelin gameplay is dreadful but the javelin experience is extremely exciting and not as buggy as it used to be. The loot system is rewarding and you'll almost always find a new piece you like. The load times are long, 45 to 90 seconds, and quite often, so I'd recommend getting an SSD to play this game and it'll shave 30 to 45 seconds off load times. TL;DR It's still a little buggy, but if you like hack n slash shooter parties get this game! (Requires high speed internet.)

This game has potential, but just isn't quite there with a ton of initial release bugs and small issues that hurt the overall gameplay. Load times are incredibly long and full game crashes are unfortunately frequent. The overal gameplay is decent, but barely worth the pain of its flaws.

Gameplay is fun but the story is uninteresting. I find myself skipping any and all cutscenes. My only gripe is that flying is cut short by a cool down for the thrusters. Although fun at first, I’ve found myself dropping the game a week after release due to repetitive gameplay.
