This scooter is so fun and was perfect for a 7 year old. I'm impressed with the weight limit and appreciate that you can get some speed without guaranteeing a broken bone with this model. It feels solid and we'll put together without being needlessly heavy. I'm confident this will hold up well to a child playing with it. The pure joy on his face was amazing. This is a great next step for kids who enjoy a normal manual scooter. Everything to get going comes in the box and you aren't stuck buying a ton of extras. I would recommend a good helmet and a set of elbow and knee pads for safety however that's about all you'd need. The black and green coloring of the scooter are great, it stands out and my kid appreciated it didn't look like the typical cartoon themed kids scooter you usually see. He's played with this pretty much nonstop and hasn't had a single complaint. This was reasonably priced compared to other options he's shown me so I think that's a huge plus. I'd highly recommend this especially if you do a bigger gift for xmas or bdays.

My kids really enjoy the Anyhill UM-3 scooter. It's a great size for younger kids (up to 9 or 10 as long as under the max weight limit of 132 pounds). The scooter has 3 speed settings which is great for new riders as they learn how to ride an electric scooter. Pressing the power button cycles through the three speed settings (3.7, 6.2, and 9.3 MPH). As the rider becomes more comfortable, they can quickly increase the speed. Having both a hand brake and foot break is convenient allowing kids to slow/stop the scooter in whatever way works best for them. To get the scooter moving (powered), the scooter must be in motion. This is a nice safety feature to ensure the kids don't lose control of the scooter by accidentally engaging the throttle. The major drawback to this scooter is the length of the charging cable. It is ridiculously short. It will work OK if you have a power outlet towards the bottom of a wall (like in a house), but in a garage where the outlets are higher up, you will have to use an extension cord.

Our daughter really liked this scooter a lot. Once she got comfortable with it, she bumped it up to the second speed where she was comfortable. Getting used to braking was the only challenge because the handbrake took a good bit of strength to use effectively, but she found that it was great for just slowing down a little. There were other powered scooters she tried in the past that were just too fast. This Anyhill scooter is great that way. More back to the brakes. Both the foot brake (using your foot on top of the rear fender) and the hand brake do pretty much the same thing, but can be used for different purposes. The handbrake takes some strength to be really effective as a brake that will stop you quickly, but the foot brake can be a bit much to just slow you down. Once you get accustomed to slowing down with the hand brake and stopping with the foot brake, it's great. The combination of the two with the selectable speed ranges makes the scooter very controllable. The one thing I couldn't figure out is what kind of range the throttle has. My daughter seemed to just run it 'flat out' full throttle. My wife tried it. She is under the weight limit, so she tried it in the house when we first got it and thought it was a LOT of fun. She said she might be interested in a slightly larger version. I might have to keep an eye out for that.
