great battery backup

They provide enough run time to finish what you are working on and then shut down your system (computer). I downsized from a larger model and found the 450 sufficient to meet my needs.

I'm typing this while the power is out

You do need to replace the battery about every 3-5 years though, but the cost of the battery should be cheaper than a new unit, and you can recycle the old battery at BB. Recommend this for any computer where a power outage or brown out can wipe out your "A" paper for school.

Excellent Power Backup for CRITICAL Devices

It will keep them up through short duration power company provided outages, and gives me plenty of time to gracefully shut down systems and devices to avoid the kinds of problems an abrupt power outage can create.
