For the first time in many years, my main computer is an all-in-one desktop (iMac) instead of a laptop with an internal battery, so I needed protection against power failures. Studying the available options at Best Buy, I settled on this product. It was easy to install, and everything plugged into it works fine. I turn it off at night and on in the morning, and the On/Off switch is accessible and responsive. We have not had a power failure since I bought it, so I can't yet report on how well it serves its principal function. A couple of caveats. It signals a dip in line power with a loud annoying beep, and the trigger for this is very sensitive. I have a laser printer plugged into the same electrical circuit, and every time the heating element in the printer switches on, the UPS screams. I think they could adjust it so that it signals a loss of power rather than just a slight dip. Second, it has surge protection built in, and the instructions say not to put a surge protector in series with it. But the joules level of the surge protector in the UPS is considerably lower than I have customarily had in my stand-alone surge protectors. I hope it's adequate.

I purchased 3 of these to protect a phone system and new computers in a small church. As Central Florida is the lightning capital of the world and regular thunderstorms cause surges and power outages, it's great to know we won't lose the work we are doing and expensive equipment is protected at a very reasonable price.

I purchased this battery backup because I live in an area where there have been a few outages, and there is nothing worse than the power going out in a storm while in the middle of writing a paper for work. This battery helps to keep my computer running and I no longer lose my work. Really good buy at a low price point.

This was a well-rated UPS backup battery that I purchased to replace another one that had failed. I like its compact size and multiple plugs. There was a bit of a problem installing the interior battery and I?U needed to go on line to find a video with better instructions than the ones that versed with the unit/.

I run a small graphic design business in a 120 year old home. The electrical is outdated and flickers during heavy load times. I've used the APC backUps for one computer system for several years and it has saved the day many times over. I purchased this APC450 to cover another computer system and it has performed as well a the first one. Each of my computer systems includes computer, printer, usb hard drives, scanners. The APC has plenty of outlets giving you protection for all your devices. The APC battery is replaceable, my first APC unit lasted seven years before I had to replace the internal battery. That was about $50, again well worth the investment.

Use it simply to support my cable modem and cable WiFi device. Works as advertised. Makes a loud 2 sec squawk if the line voltage drops below a set minimum. Strangely, when it was plugged into the power strip with my laser printer, it squawked every time the printer cycled up or down. I plugged it directly into the wall outlet and the issue disappeared.

I replaced another APC unit with this because the battery failed after 5 or more years. I use this to protect my phone and answering machine, so I can go with a low power unit. Simple to install and simple to connect all my devices to it. Makes little if any noise. Overall it does what I bought it for.

I bought two of these UPS's for my store and they do what they are supposed to do. Before I got them, the power would flicker and I would have to reboot my Point-of-Sale computer, sometimes multiple times, making customers have to wait. Now, when I get little outages, it is smooth sailing!

I trust APC to my power backup needs. Battery life is generally quite good and I expect the same from this product. I've found it it's better to buy a new APC backup UPS than replace with an inferior quality replacement battery once the original battery has run its useful life.

I purchased this to keep my router and modem on in the case of power outages and it works perfectly. Two outages in the last month and the internet didn't go out. With the low power of the modem and router, this thing could go for quite a while. Great price as well.

I actually don't use this for my PC because I have other items in the house other than my PC that could use a battery backup. I used this one for my TV so I don't have to reset the clock on my TV and clock radio in case of an outage. Good for the price.

This is my second unit. I purchased the first unit in Montana several years ago because we have lots of lightening there in the summer. This unit has kept my computer, etc. in good working order through some incredible lightening storms and brown-outs!

The UPS is easy to set up. We were up and running in minutes. If the power goes out, and it already has, the computer keeps on running giving us time to save and shut down. The UPS also protects my computer from electrical spikes and incontinuety.

The unit appears to be working, however I have not experienced power loss at this point. It is larger and heavier than I originally thought, but has sufficient plug for my devices. At the moment I have a router, NAS and firewall attached.

I purchased this when I found out our new cable modem from COMCAST did not come with a back up battery. So not only is the modem on a battery back up so is the computer and printer.

Every piece of high end piece of electronics should have a Backup battery. Sure a surge suppressor is nice, but it doesnt stop the brown-outs that also damages the components. Make sure you get the chance to save that 10 page report when the power goes out, buy a back up battery!

I wanted something to supply power to my network and cordless phone. The Network 40 supplies 450 VA of power, ethernet protection, 4 surge protected outlets, and 4 battery/surge protected outlets. I have my DSL modem, wireless router, cordless phone, and even a NAS disk drive protected with battery/surge, and my printer with surge only.

I bought the least expensive battery back up that fit my needs to replace one that was at least 10 years old. There were cheaper back ups but I needed one with eight outlets for two computers and periferals and a telephone
