If you've got a 4K player and panel - and if you're a big fan of "Apocalypse Now" - then make no hesitations about re-buying this latest edition. This "Final Cut" edition provides the most amazing picture and sound quality topping my earlier Blu Ray set. This is what they mean when using the word "Restoration".

I have the ddvd, both original and redux versions on blu-ray, and this one tops them all. Added to this is the fact that you get both versions of the movie in 4k and reg blu-ray this purchase is a no-brainer. It shows its age, but even with the film grain and softer images at times, it is a phenomenal 4k.

Beautiful 4K transfer. All the different releases and behind the scenes extras in what may be the most ambitious movie production of all time.

Apocalypse now the final cut is the best version of this classic film. Coppola edited the redux version of the film ,and removed many tedious scenes that hindered the overall pace of the film. The film has a completely new digital soundtrack, as well as, a completely new digital restoration.

Bought 2 , one for Christmas gift & the other for myself. Haven’t watched it yet in 4k. Notice a lot of the old movie classics are in real 4k , which is nice! Beware that a lot of the new movies are not real 4k though. Looking forward to watching this movie over the Christmas holiday !

Of all the versions of this film I have bought over the years - this is the definitive release. The new cut is really strong and looks great. Picture and sound quality are at an all time high and the massive amount of extras will take a lot of time to work through. Easily recommended.

Now 4K versions of all the key cuts of one of the most mind blowing depictions of the Vietnam war ever made. Great acting, great music and a surreal real rollercoaster ride. They don't make movies like this anymore and maybe they never will again so check out this definitive collection.

The Panny 420 is perfect for viewing 4 k HDR material because of the optimizer which sets picture quality at best viewing setting for your tv.Best part of this is that the optimizer can be used on HDR material streamed on Netflix. Best 4K player on the market at this price point.

Coppola's 1979 film, although missing greatness for me, is still a very fine film, and the new 4K restoration is superb. Visually stunning, the story of the search for Captain Kurts remains a compelling exercise. 3 differing versions of the film, I still prefer the original cut. Goos performances, and Martin Sheen especially stands out. Brando good as always, although rubles much of his dialogue. Other films are better showing the war experience, but this film does do a quite strong job, and showing a differing side and viewpoint to the futility of war. Def worth viewing.

The movie comes with multiple discs. All different cuts of the film on Blu Ray, plus a couple cuts on 4k Blu ray, including the new “Final Cut.” Included is also the amazing “documentary” called Hearts of Darkness which chronically the absolute insanity of the making of this film and is as good as any movie. The picture quality is incredible. The opening scene is extremely grainy and had me feeling like a fool for buying 4k. This is quickly replaced with a constant WOW factor as the beads of sweat on every face, the glinting highlights on every reflective material, the oily water cutting through plants, all feed the senses. Often times this movie looks like it was filmed today. This is an absolutely incredible job and a master class in 4K remastering. I have to mention one thing. The box itself is f—ing AWFUL. The single worst designed box of any disc based product I have ever seen. It has a back cover made of thin cardboard that has 2 1 inch flaps that folds over the top edge (that reads 4k ultra hd and lists all the contents as seen above the title.) and a similar flap on the bottom edge. These are flimsy and always pointing away from the disc. The movie does not sit comfortable on a stack, and looks like garbage laying by itself or any situation where the box isnt firmly pressed between other heavy objects. I removed this entire flappy layer, which in turn removes all of the 4K information, and leaves the case a trifold series of disc cases with absolutely NOTHING clasping it shut. It just flails around like a tablet folio case. Other than the box, 10 out of 10 audio and video and included content.

As having NEVER seen this film before (was a child when it originally came out), I'm glad watching it in 4k restoration is my 1st experience. My review is for the physical media presentation only. Really, what else can be said that hasn't been echoed throughout the decades since its release? If your equipment has the capability to display Dolby Vision, then THIS anniversary edition is a must-own!!! From the vibrant greens of the jungle to the reddish-orange hues of the dawn, to the color hues of the indigenous peoples (skin tones & costumes), this is a true visual feast for the eyes (that is not an embellishment). And for bass-lovers looking for demo-worthy material to show-off their equipment, that's been covered, too. Plenty of overhead action during the numerous helicopter sequences and more than enough low-end rumble when the weapons of mass destruction starts to engage (actually had to turn it down a few dB a couple of times). Only watched the new final cut as of yet; still want to check out the redux version and will definitely watch the infamous Heart of Darkness doc eventually. So glad I picked this up (not really a big fan of war films which is why I never made an effort to see this prior).

Hadn't seen this since I saw it in 1080i on satellite. This version is BEAUTIFUL. The air raid and Do Long Bridge sequences alone are BREATHTAKING. Blacks are deep and colors are VIBRANT (if you have all of the 4K viewing requirements, of course. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

They don’t make movies like this anymore. I have many copies of this film and different versions.... highly recommended. I haven’t watched the final cut yet, but all of the other features I have seen- hearts of darkness is a pretty eye opening documentary included here.

Terrific edition containing 3 versions of this epic film. The original is still the definitive version but the later ones offer interesting scenes that will elucidate the filmmaking process. Plus this contains the fascinating documentary and various extras.

As any 40 y/o movie, there are some soft scenes with heavy grain, however, there are also some very crisp shots with increased depth and the HDR is amazing. My wife and I were particularly impressed with the helicopter scene. The original cut is still the best

4K picture quality suffers a little due to the age of the film elements, but the film remains a penetrating look into America's "Heart of Darkness." All three versions of the film are worth recommending, and the bonus documentary is especially worthwhile.

This is easily one of the Greatest movies ever made. Alongside Lawrence of Arabia its one of the best war movies as well. So many iconic lines and great actors! Don't be fooled by the credits though, Harrison Ford has less than 5 minutes screen time!

A great classic all together! Coppola's final cut looks and sounds great in 4k. The transfer offers smooth frames, natural colors, dolby surrond. The packaging is set up nicely in this box set with digital code as well. A huge difference from my dvd copy
