I'm a photographer, and I was looking for a faster computer, and nice scream! So I'm really glad with the performance of the iMac. The design is great, is faster than my old computer i7, I really loved!

This is my second iMac that I have owned, I purchased my first iMac back in 2009 and it is still functioning very well, out of the 6 years I have had it I have had zero trouble with it. The only reason I purchased this new one is due to the upgraded Processor and the amount of RAM the new one has. I work from home on occasion and there is not a better computer to handle all of applications that I run and this iMac is capable of running a large amount of programs at one time without suffering any performance loss. Even though the price may scare some folks away I assure you that in the long run this iMac is far better than ANY PC that you could purchase and will perform better and longer than a PC from my experience and opinion. I work as an IT Manager and deal with PC's on a daily basis and I see PC's come and go, I work from a 27" iMac at work and have for 3 years and again no problems at all. Hope this review helps anyone having trouble deciding if this purchase would be right for them...

After 15 years of dealing with viruses, root kits, error messages, and blue screens, I finally broke down and got the 21.5" iMac. Little learning curve finding some of the features, but for the most part I figured them out on my own. Very user friendly, and takes up hardly any space, being all contained in the monitor - it's an amazing piece of engineering. Done with Microsoft products! This thing is great!

My first Mac computer. So far I love it. Simple to set up and use. Very fast compared to other computers I used. Integrates very nicely with my other apple products.

I love my Mac. It is an improved model of one I purchased 7 years earlier. The only disappointment is no built Disc Reader. The video is crisp and clean. This is faster and has more power and much more storage. I absolutely love it

This is my first Apple computer. Previously owned PCs and work on a PC in the office. I have adapted very quickly to using a MAC. I absolutely love it. Was extremely easy to set up. Runs very fast. Looks beautiful on my kitchen desk. Sales person at Best Buy was extremely patient and helpful. Very happy with the purchase.

Can't believe how consistent the quality of service at the Marlborough, MA Best Buy store. I have never been a big fan of Best Buy over the years but am now finding the service a plus since going to that location! The computer was not available in Millbury, so they sent me over to Marlborough where it is was. I have been over to Millbury and love what I see there too, by the way, very honest folks, helpful. Loving my new IMac a ton!

After owning between 3-5 Pc's and needing a New Computer I decided to go with an iMac. After ironing out a few user errors I can say that I am quite Happy with my selection.
I will have to learn a few things after being a PC user for many years but that should not be a problem.

I have always been a Mac fan. I bought a Mac Book Pro in 2006 as a freshman in college, and it lasted me 6 long, tough years. I was hoping for the same from this iMac. It's as wonderful as any Mac you could ask for, except its processing power. It will frequently lag if I'm doing anything more than iTunes and Word or Chrome.

Great computer! A little pricey but I would say it's worth it for general uses. I'm a college student and I'm accustomed to my old HP, but I guess ill get the hang of it. Not compatible with CDs and requires batteries on mouse and keyboard. Keyboard too small.

You have to have an external hard drive

Love it but I had to buy an external drive to back up. If you don't do it, it starts to restart by itself or freeze. I use it for photography and I normally don't save my staff in the computer, even doing that I had to get an external hard drive and I am constantly backing up.

Over the years, I have used both Windows and Mac products. However, I absolutely hate Windows 8 interface (or anything newer). Mac has always stayed the same. I personally love the shortcut keys for accents because I speak French as well. No need to memorize a bajillion number codes like on a Windows! I love the sleekness of it~no wires besides the plug-in for the power! The only thing that is different from the desktop model 1-3 years ago is that there is no built in cd-rom. This can be easily fixed by purchasing a external hard drive. You DO NOT need to buy an Apple brand one, any brand will work. I've also noticed that they are getting rid of the CD drives in their laptops too. Tons of USB ports. Glad I went with the TB of storage even though I typically save things onto Google Drive or a thumb drive.
Buy it at Best Buy because it's significantly cheaper than buying at an Apple store. I bought brand new and it still was cheaper than a brand new one at Apple. However, sometimes you can buy the out of box models at Best Buy and save even more. If you're wondering if you should go Apple or Windows--> it's a personal choice and depends on your usage. I don't game but use Microsoft products and music programs for work. So, that's why I went with a Mac.
Price wise: it may seem like you're spending so much money but Macs last a lot longer than Windows computers now (whether it's a laptop or desktop). So in the long run, it's worth it.

Open box stuff is the best deal at best buy!

Purchasing open box items is the best deal going. I get what I want at an awesome price. My desktop pic finally died and I had a 13" Mac Air for 3 years and it has provided flawless service. It seemed to be the perfect opportunity to become fully Appled. It was simpler than simple. I turned it on, answered a few questions, signed into my iCloud account and after a bit I had a mirror of my laptop. It could not have been easier. The 27" screen is a dream and it's running perfectly. All for hundreds off retail. I love open box certified by the geek squad!

Great design, not a seamless PC transition

We finally made the transition from PC to Mac and we are overall glad we did. The design of this unit is beautiful, setup was relatively painless (a few glitches with airport, easily remedied with a call to tech support). We've used it for a month and while there is a bit of a learning curve, I'm pretty happy with the features, performance and functionality.
What's not so great:
1) the Apple consultant definitely overstated the simplicity of the Migration Assistant application. It creates a new user for every migration and you have to manually sync to your Admin or other account. It doesn't always logically store the migrated data and it can't support all file types (i.e., .mod video files - you'll need a conversion app or a simple yet time-consuming workaround to get them to play).
2) I miss having a DVD drive and will probably purchase their external one -- unfortunate, as that's now one more piece of clutter on my desk.
3) Pages/Numbers/Keynote are lacking, no way do they take the place of Word/Excel/Powerpoint if you do any type of document/spreadsheet work. Office for Mac was a must.
However I am still quite pleased with the purchase and price point.

I bought this Mac after years of using various PC brands. It seemed like every 2-3 years I was replacing a computer due to major hard-drive issues/screen issues. I had used mac's before in college but never considered buying one for the house. It has been extremely reliable. It is fast and the screen is beautiful. I love keeping my external hard-drive connected and every time something changes on the computer it automatically runs in the background and syncs everything to the external hard-drive. No more loosing files/music like I have for the past 10 years. I highly recommend spending the extra money and buy a Mac.
