Cord if nice and long, works great and does it's job.

Needed a longer cable because the new iPad pro came with a short cable...too short for charging and use at the same time.

This is an apple product. I would rather pay a bit more for this product. I have purchased the non apple made compatible ones, and they did not last as long.

I highly recommend getting this cable especially if you only have one. It's important to have a backup and definitely get the OEM cable! So you can guarantee performance.

You might be tempted to try different usb c cables from other manufacturers but going with the genuine apple cable to charge your new macbook pro is the safest way to go!
