I needed a cable to migrate stuff from my old MacBook to my new one. The old one only had USB 2, but it did have a Thunderbolt port, so I ponied up for this cable. I know there is some trick technology involved in Thunderbolt cables, but they are still crazy expensive. And now that I'm done with it, it's just an expensive combination of rubber, plastic, and wires. It is VERY short - it was difficult to arrange the Macbooks in such a way as to connect them. The cable is also very stiff, adding to the difficulty of connecting the laptops, but it worked - just not very conveniently or cost effectively.

Bought this to transfer all of my files from my old MacBook to my new one. It got the job done in 10 mins! Very fast and efficient!

Great length cable. Go for this and not the shorter one, even though this one is black (if you have a preference of "Apple whites").

I foolishly bought the shorter cable first. I quickly realized I needed the extra length and ordered this one. It has worked perfectly and I'm glad I went with the genuine Apple version- I've read about too many problems with off brand thunderbolts. I use this to use my old iMac as a secondary display for my new MacBook.

The cable allows ultra fast transfer of information between 2 macs. Be very careful not to bend it though I have seen them break.

The cable works just as it should but what I really like is this cable is 6' long, about double of the standard Apple cable.

This should be the standard length lightning cable. While it's a little pricy it does exactly what it should. It's just long enough to get to your peripherals but short enough that you won't have extra cluttering up your desk. I appreciate that it comes in white and black. It's a solid cable.
