I bought this for my iPhone4. It's a great alternative for being able to see your pictures, videos or netflix on an HD tv, or computer monitor. Just be aware, as long as your iphone,pad,pod is plugged into the adapter, the iphone,pad,pod screen will NOT go off automatically. It will stay on even though nothing is playing on its own display. It will play on the extra screen only. And it does not power your device. So this is a battery killer. But still a good idea and useful adapter.

Easy to use item. Makes my iPad more diverse and usable for work and not just for play.

This is an excellent adapter for showing video from my iPhone 4S. It was easy to hook up to the projector and worked great!

Great for the IPad to hook up to the TV, only thing is it will not let me use it for Comcast Xfinity TV app. It does what it suppose to do. Look forward to see what will work like Hulu & Netflix I have not tried yet.

THis works great! I can give prezi presentations with most projectors using this adaptor! Totally worth the money.

We bought (and are buying) quite a few of these for our fleet of iPads and it doesn't really make sense to have a 1:1 ratio. You won't be using this very often. You would think that this would output all of the iPad's video to the VGA connector, but that's not how it works as of 07.28.2010 version of iPad software. It only works in certain apps, and with some apps you would expect it to work, it doesn't! Cable quality is fair and it looks like it will last a few years of use--the reality is that it'll last a few centuries in your parts drawer since you won't be using it very much. The video that it does output is very good. No flicker or refresh problems on our HDTVs. BIG PROBLEM: you can't charge while you use this so you better be sure that you HAVE A FULL BATTERY CHARGE on the iPad if you are doing pre-show setup for a presentation. If the pad sits on the podium displaying a pre-show slide...

I've had a great experience with most Apple products and this works as advertised. Have used on a few occasions to connect to LCD projectors for presentations.

Apple Dock Connector-to-VGA Adapter for Apple iPad This adapter is perfect ONLY for iPads 2 and later versions. It is not efficient when using an iPad 1 to project downloaded APPS to a screen. Bottom line: Stay away from this product if your primary objective is to project images from your Apple iPad 1 onto viewing screen. Any other version will be totally sufficient.

I bought this product to use for work and it has been great! No issues!

Tried it with an iPhone 4 and an iPod Touch 2nd generation. Would not display anything on the screen. You also have the additional headache of needing to use a audio cable with the plug that is the correct size. If it is too long (like with traditional audio cables that plug in to the earphone jack), then you do not get any audio. I ended up switching to the digital A/V adapter that uses HDMI and that has worked out very well.

Normally you can stream from your iPad or iPhone to any devixe(such as a tv) but Comcast won't let you do that yet. You can watch tv on your phone but you can't cast or project it to a TV or monitor without hardwiring it using a device like this one. This cable is short so you can't multitask with your device but it is a nice thing to have if you don't mind the pricing. It comes I both cable versions but the iPhone 6 /iPad 4 is much more expensive than the iPhone 4/iPad 2

Not much to say. It is a cable but since you have no input/output on an ipad you must have this. *It actually should be included but that is just my opinion.

This works great with my iPad which I use for teaching. It simply enables the iPad screen to project through your projector like a charm. I highly recommend this.

Cable too short and the fit to the HDMI is loose causing picture to go out if not held steady.
