Much easier to turn on quickly (than a desktop) and actually be able to read type (not like a phone's miniature text). The sound quality is better with earbuds.

I had an iPad Air an really like this slightly smaller form factor. The screen is still big enough to enjoy movies an TV shows, the smaller form factor leaves more space for other stuff in my backpack.

The price of Apple products are significantly more than their competitors but I was happy to save a few dollars by buying it on sale.
