I bought an iPhone 15 Blue on October 11, 2025, from Best Buy for $773.79, and it was delivered on October 14, 2025 by FedEx. When I received the package, I immediately noticed something was wrong the box was very light, and the tape had clearly been tampered with. Someone had opened the package, stolen the phone, and re-sealed it with a different tape. I attached pictures that clearly show the package had been re-taped.
I feel scammed and treated poorly by Best Buy. On the same day (October 14), I contacted Best Buy through online chat, and the agent I spoke to assured me that I would receive a refund. Based on that, and because I needed a working phone for my job, I purchased another iPhone 15 that same day the exact same model and price.
The next day, October 15, 2025, I received a confirmation email stating that my order had been canceled and that I would receive a refund within 10 days. After waiting the full 10 days and seeing no refund, I contacted Best Buy again, only to be told that they had conducted an “investigation” and decided to cancel my refund. I was never informed that an investigation was even taking place, and they didn’t tell me when they canceled it I only found out because I reached out myself. Essentially, Best Buy let me buy another phone while knowing they would not give me a refund for the first one.
To make matters worse, the agent who informed me about the canceled refund said the investigation was conducted with UPS, but the delivery was handled by FedEx. I contacted FedEx myself, and they confirmed that Best Buy never reached out to them about this order. That makes me believe Best Buy never did a proper investigation.
Since Best Buy refused to refund me, I tried to file a claim through FedEx, but Best Buy kept insisting that I needed my local law enforcement agency to contact them directly before they could proceed which my local police department said made no sense, since they do not handle that kind of coordination. Every time I contacted Best Buy, it felt like they were trying to get rid of me. I called several times (three or four), and each time I was promised follow-ups that never happened. Even when I spoke to a supervisor, he was dismissive and unhelpful.

Very bad experience. An empty box got delivered. When I went to Best Buy store, they didn’t help much saying we should not order online and should order in store. We eventually had to call o line support 15-20 times to get our refund back. Never buying again since trust is broken.
