This computer meets all my school needs, it's light and compact so it fit in a book bag so I can take it to class easily to take notes and keep current.

There are numerous compromises one makes with technology. A phone can do a lot, but it is a tiny screen. You give up the ability to do long form, thoughtful work. A tablet makes consuming media more pleasant, but not so universal in content creation. A MacBook is only a tiny bit more to carry than a tablet but much more versatile and efficient. All you give up with a MacBook compared to larger laptops is extra USB ports. If you rarely plug in a USB device, you won't miss the ports at all. Super thin and light but with a full keyboard and trackpad.

Good computer I got it on sale so it’s good for what I pay it gets the job done.

Light, great speed, enough capacity and enjoy apple products. Still exploring all the features. Large touch pad is awesome. Got a great sale too!!

For someone that isn’t computer savvy this computer makes it easy to use. The compact size makes it easy to take anywhere.

More than powerful enough for everyday use. It's not for gaming but it does everything else perfectly. I forget it's in my backpack sometimes.

The battery life is generally 8-10 hours and the screen is absolutely beautiful, but I highly recommend trying out the butterfly switches in person. I love it know but was terrified of it before. The 12 inch MacBook has the 1st get butterfly switches unlike the 2017 model which has the 2nd gen. There honestly isn't much a difference as I used them side by side, the 2nd gen has a bit more travel and its more clicky but honestly its definitely NOT worth getting if your snagging this machine up for basic productivity and want to save money.

Love the size and speed of this new Macbook. We chose the upgraded version with faster processor and bigger SSD, definitely worth the extra cash.

Extremely light. Laptop is very thin and is also very fast. The m series chips remain consistent in their processing unlike the I series

I purchased this laptop for my daughter ... a sophomore in college. We were replacing a 7-year-old Macbook Pro. It has all the power and pep she needs, in a very light and attractive case. She loved it immediately. The fact that she is a long-time Mac user helped a lot. Backup and restore occurred automatically and immediately ... so she hit the ground running and couldn't be happier. If you like Macs and want something small, attractive, and quite powerful for most everyday computing needs, then this will be an excellent choice.

The only feature this computer lacks is the touch ID made available with the MB Pro 2016. I use this as a day-to-day and find it more than capable of handing applications like Lightroom. And you can't beat the form factor.

Macs in general are just very nice products, hardware and software. I bought this for a 13 year old. Solid state is very quick, no lag. Sierra OS X is cool, with Siri. It's all so compatible if you own an iPhone, iPad, apple in general. The USB c is a problem. Seems like another reason to sell adapters. It keeps it very thin and fragile looking. I included both a neoprene sleeve and padded armored backpack to transport it. Still beats my pc by a mile. Love to get my hands on a MacBook Pro. A bit cost prohibitive however.

I first purchased the smaller MacBook but this size works better for me. Great speed, like the keyboard and screen is great!

It may take a while to get used to the new keyboard as it seems like you're typing on a hard surface as the new type of keyboard can only go down a tiny bit. Besides, the screen resolution is great and fan-less configuration is awesome as the laptop did not heat up as much as old MacBook or MacBook Pro. I watched couple movies and the laptop was only warm to the touch. Laptop is so light that sometimes I forgot that I was carrying a laptop. Therefore, the only con for this laptop is the keyboard.

Love the look and feel of this laptop. Integrates flawlessly with my iPhone and iPad and is unbelievably compact but amazingly fast.
