Great, except for the port options.

Her laptop's webcam and DVD drive stopped working years ago. And if she moved it around too vigorously, it would shut down. Clearly, she needed a new laptop. I wasn't convinced about getting her another Mac due to the problems we've had in the past and the on-going keyboard issues in the newer Macs, but I caved and got her the MacBook Air anyway. So far, so good. It's responsive, screen is excellent, speakers are amazing for a laptop. But there are annoying aspects about it as well, coming from her old MacBook Pro. The key travels is minimal, so it's not as satisfying to type on. And the (lack of) ports is annoying. Need to plug in a USB 3.0 thumb drive? Can't do it. USB 2.0 printer? Nope. So, I had to get an adapter just to make that work. Because USB-C hasn't been fully adopted yet, the adapter remains on the laptop at all times. The laptop is now less sleek. We'll see how long this premium laptop will last. It's a beautiful machine, but they could have done better.

Perfect MacBook

Powerful laptop that takes up minimal space
