Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the Apple MacBook Pro's ease of use, performance, lightweight design, and battery life, with many praising its size and aesthetics. However, customers are negative about the limited number of USB and other ports, as well as the small storage capacity. Some users also noted that the device can get warm during extended use. While a few found the touch bar unnecessary, the overall feedback highlights a strong preference for the laptop's portability and usability.

I’ve had two Macs before this and I would choose either of them over this piece of junk. First of all, you’re paying more for less so watch out for that. In the past you could get the “cheapest” available Mac with a good amount of storage. Now you’re paying a grand for just over 100GB. Doesn’t hold much at all. A few thousand photos. One or two programs and that’s it! Then you get pop ups constantly telling you storage is low and there is no way to stop the pop ups. As if having no CD drive, no USB, no HDMI, no camera card slot, etc was bad enough. This heats up too and the fans are loud. Please save yourself the headache I’m enduring after not even having this for a year.

the person who sold me on it convinced me I would save money and still be able to edit large files on final cut pro. needless to say they were entirely wrong in every way. that person had no idea what they were talking about and had obviously never edited large files. it got so bad i stopped posting content on my youtube for over a year now because it would take FOREVER to edit. this mac really ruined my plans but luckily I got what i needed which is the 16" 16GB ram core i9 processor 1TB hd and video graphics card. but that's if you want to edit video. otherwise, if you just need an expensive search engine, get this hunk of metal.

I really dislike what apple has done with their laptops. The introduced the hyperdrive that has all the ports so the computer doesn't have any. The problem is, the hyperdrive is faulty and flops around and disconnects making this computer a nightmare to try to take anywhere. Any little bump will disconnect the hyperdrive so its not really appropriate for a portable computer. I really regret my purchase of this computer and wish I could go back in time and make a different choice. I won't buy apple products again because of this and I have been buying only apple for years.

Especially the 128GB. Only two usbc ports, cheap and plasticy keyboard, no charging indicator when the device is closed. Apple really let me down.

    Not impressed with MBP 2017-2019

Not impressed with this generation MBP (nor the change in policy that shortened the window to purchase AppleCare+) I had not even opened the laptop up as I had hoped that if it was sealed Apple would allow me to purchase the AppleCare+ warranty, but they refused. Hence, I missed the opportunity to purchase the extended warranty as a result, and as luck would have it, needed it, due to accident damage when it slipped out of my lap. Now the screen is broken and possibly further damage internally as well. So now, I'm without a laptop and no idea if it's worth investing in repairs out of pocket. I'm seriously thinking about getting a Windows laptop that I can upgrade in the future. That is one thing I really dislike about Apple products. Most things are soldered on board and therefore not upgradable. So now after owning the laptop for 16 months, and not using it for about half of that time as I had hoped that Apple would come around and allow me to bring it in, unseal it and run diagnostics and allow me to buy the extended warranty, but as previously noted, they refused me that option! [And to make it worse, BB wouldn't offer me a Geek Squad warranty on the MBP either.] Live and learn. With this generation of Apple MBP, you should opt for the AppleCare+ warranty. The repair and replacement costs will be worth it if you plan on having this pricy laptop useful for many years as possible into the future. Be very careful because the screens are pretty fragile, as well as possibly even defective too, per sounds of many of the negative posts.

This is by far the worst laptop i’ve Ever purchased honestly a $300 dell would probably work better than this laptop. The wireless receiver sucks and you can barely get WiFi anywhere. My phone gets signal in places that my laptop can’t. Has a nice screen and battery life everything else feels is like using a 10year old computer. When I try to edit videos it’s horrible can’t handle 4K footage.

I finally sold this about 4 months ago, because after a faulty keyboard repair, I decided it wasn’t worth the hassle. Laptop only has 2 USB-C ports which is a joke considering the price. Speakers are “meh” at best, trackpad is annoyingly large, display is the one upside. Traded this for an ipad pro and couldn’t be happier.

My first Apple product will be my last. I purchased this for one single reason: its purported longevity. After 16 months, I casually opened the computer one day to find the display covered in rapidly shifting purple and blue lines. The unit has not been treated with anything less than the utmost care. As a teacher, this is my lifeline to being able to conduct my job while physically isolated from my students. From what I have read about this problem, it is nearly as expensive to fix as it is to buy a brand new Mac - or two new PCs. This is a shamefully unreliable product and exploitative service to go along with it from a trillion dollar company.

This product need some improvement. There is no usb slot. This is not acceptable. They should give free USB adapter since it doesn’t have usb slot. Don’t like the keyboard. Price is bit expensive for this quality.

Within a month, I have started to experience overheating and when i thought it was getting out of hand, I contacted Apple. I thought the issue was resolved for a good 12 hours until this morning my laptop froze when started up and just shut off. Apple Support said it is an internal issue and now I have to bring it in and am currently without laptop. I'm super stressed and hate that I trusted in Apple and Best Buy to sell me a product that has only caused me problems and stress!

Battery recharges quickly, but discharges even more quickly. Hate the idea that you just cannot leave it plugged into the power supply. Power supply cord is too short. Touchpad is too sensitive: very cranky to use. Software is an abomination. Do most of my work on an old Mac with Office 2010 because it is easier to use. What takes one click in 2010 takes six clicks in 2019. Also defaults are difficult or impossible to change. Need a tool, not a toy. Need to get work done, not fooling around like a teenager.

My first apple product that I got in college and regretted my money. I got a Mack book air for my sis and she never had a problem with it. I had so many issues with this. Lousy fans when I am doing homework (I am not a game player) so I had the fans replaced by Apple just to find out that after Apple changed my motherboard, my camera stopped working (at this point I was not out of the 1 year warranty) and Apple blamed me for it and said it would cost $300+ To fix it. Thanks Apple

Apple products are a complete sham. I'm a photographer and only keep two editing softwares on the laptop. About 6 months in the laptop just stopped working properly. Random shut downs, freezing anything and everything. If you looked at it weird it would shut down and restart. Absolute garbage of a laptop.

I had no idea that OS was any different than IOS. It looks like Apple would have made the iPhone and the apple MacBook more compatible. This computer six. I can not do anything on it that I need to do. I run a business, but you can’t with this computer along with your iPhone. Looks like employees at Best Buy would have told me how incompatible those two were. Sad. I bought a 2000 dollar computer that Best Buy will not take back.

I was super excited when I purchased this laptop. But when I got home my excitement went straight out the window. It took forever for it to just load up, when the screen went on save mood I had to restart the whole loading process over. When it did load the apps moved so slow. Long story short the internet worked for one day and I was back in best buy switching it out for a new one.
