This product does the job that it was designed to do. I found it available when I needed it. I found no alternative that could have substituted for it at a cheaper price. The price I paid seemed a bit high.

I have been disappointed with these chargers because I have replaced like 3 already. However, you have to buy an Apple product so there ya go.

This is the THIRD charger in two years. My girlfriend uses it with her Mac. The internet is riddled with poor reviews of this product, so mine certainly isn't the first. You have no choice over the charger you have to buy, so it certainly is a terrible situation for the consumer. One recommendation is to be EXTREMELY cautious with winding the cord that leads from the charger to the computer. The reinforcement on that end is notorious for breaking much sooner than it should. Create a small loop about the length of your thumb before winding. That should prevent excessive stress, but it WILL wear out long before your Mac does. :(

Charger works great. The only downside is that this is my fourth charger for my Macbook Pro. The part that connects to laptop always seems to break after a few months. Apple should make it more durable.

I have no idea why they charge $80 for this. if you intend rough use, you might be out of luck. I don't know why they could not create a normal charger.

Original cord only lasted for 2 years before it came apart at the connector. When purchasing a replacement, make sure the correct connector is in the box.

The original Mac cord should never have worn out in the first place. This replacement is overpriced, but Macintosh has the market cornered, and they know it well.

Apple products are great products. As far as this one, it served its purpose, it charged my computer. However the problem i have is that it costs 80 dollars. Highly over priced.

This is my third or fourth of these charging cords in less than five years. They all fray near the output no matter how careful I am. Love my Apple computer just not the charging cord.

I can't live without the power adapter. Unfortunately, I've purchased more of them than MBP's. The line from the transformer to computer has failed each time--insulation frays at the transformer.

My other charger got too hot and shorted out so I needed another. This works just fine but was kind of pricey at 80 dollars, but I guess I should expect that from an apple product.

Works like a charger should work. I had to buy a new one because the skinny cable of Apple chargers gets worn out quickly and easily. Alas, when you have a MacBook you have to buy that charger.

Works great......was having issues with intermittent charging but not anymore!

This charging cord looks exactly like the one that came with my MacBookPro, and connects snugly into the electrical wall sockets. Unfortunately, the connection into my laptop doesn't always get the charge started. It magnetically attaches itself to the laptop, but needs a few extra jiggles before the charging light comes on and the charging begins. Several times when I've been in a hurry and haven't paid attention, the cord is connected and no charge has taken place, even after several hours. There really is no other choice for a charging cord, is there?

In the past I've found this product to become easily frayed and damaged, so I'm being very careful with it. A little overpriced for something that doesn't usually last very long.

First, I love my MacBookPro. I'll never own a PC again. However, these power corders don't last. It seems I'm replacing one every year or so.

I had to replace my original laptop charger and therefore purchased this. It doe the job BUT it is extremely overpriced which is something Apple does with its products.

I have had a couple of these and everyone including the original ones has the same problem. The outside covering of the cable that connects to the end that goes into the computer splits exposing the wires inside. I have never ever had any problems with any other computer power supplies doing this. But had had this multiple times with this one. Seems like it happens just after the warranty is over. Funny isn't it that it lasts that long?

It's just a chord. That's all. A plain old power cord for a laptop. But it's for a Mac, so you can't substitute, and like all else Apple, ridiculously overpriced.

This power cable works as expected. However, I had to replace the original one due to splayed wiring. I now use electrical tape at the ends.
