I had to buy another one within a year because the cable broke. Also I think this adapter is very expensive.

I really wish apple would redesign this. I've bought 2 I the past year because they break so easily. You have to buy it though if you want to use your Mac book pro or air.

Awesome performance and amazing features. Incredibly intuitive to operate. Just plug it in and it does it’s thing all by itself!

The cord tends to fray and the way Mac packs it causes a kink which starts the Frey. This is the third power cord I’ve had for my lap top, and I’m fairly careful with it.

- thankful that Best Buy stocks this adaptor, certain that Apple dictates the sell price to them, but this item is universally scorned by most Mac Book Pro users.

3rd one I've had to purchase in short amount of time. Cord breaks where it connects to battery (square) within 2 - 3 months. It's not moved around, bent or handled roughly, or much at all, so there's no reason for it to wear out so fast. It is much too expensive to have to replace so often.

In the 5 years I have had my Mac Book pro and this is the 4th power adapter I have had to purchase due to poor construction and cheap plastic/rubber coating covering. These are very expensive and designed to fray easily. Unfortunatley I am stuck because there is no other product that I can use for charging my Mac Book Pro.

I've now bought four of these chargers. Each one has frayed and stopped working after about ~1 year (more often 13 months so it can't even be replaced under warranty) VERY FRUSTRATING.

The charger works - it powers the laptop, however the cord is way too short and for the high price not worth it. If we didn't need it immediately, I would have looked for an alternative.

This is the third adapter I had to buy. The cords crack and Frey even though I did not use them often or roughly. Apple products are overly expensive compared to PC products.

This charger was exactly what I needed for my laptop, since my previous one broke. I'm glad they were in stock.

I'm not aware of a 3rd party charger. These seem to last about 6 months of normal use before some part breaks on them. It's usually the magnet adapter or a part of the cord will fray.

I needed to purchase this power adapter twice because the cord started shredding. Both times the location of tear was at the DC connecter end where you charge the computer.

I recommend purchasing two Apple - MagSafe 85W Power Adapters for your 15 and 17 inch MacBook Pro. This is not a durable product and costly once the warranty has expired.

They always break in the same place, and are 80 a piece. Apple needs to redesign these cords. I had a 2008 model and the cord lasted for 7 years. I bought a newer model computer a few years ago and I have to buy the cord for it every 4 months because the cord rips right where it connects to the base. I probably could have bought a brand new computer with all of the money that I have spent on these things. I've tried the after market versions of these cords and they are just as bad if not worse.

This product sucks. I've replaced it 3 times in six years. Apple cords suck in general so find something cheaper.

These are expensive. Everything Apple is overpriced but must be worth the price as I'm still buying their products.

Great charger I just wish Apple would make a lighter one. It is a little on the heavy side.
