    There is a design flaw in this product causing it to break just behind the connector to the laptop. This is the third unit I have purchased, with each one breaking at the same point. However, due to the Apple design, you must purchase the entire expensive unit. It would be nice for Apple to have a separate cord to replace rather than about an $80 replacement fee. As for a recommendation, the replacement is one's only option.

    Power cord got damaged and would not work proper.Went to best buy told them what i needed ,they took me to apple section of the store .Had a replacement cable and power adapter in stock that was direct replacement ,works great.

    I had to buy a new charger for my MacBook pro that is going on 6 years old. My old one became frayed and quit working. Best Buy seemed to have the best deal for a new charger and I am satisfied with my purchase. The package arrived within a few days of ordering and has worked well for me so far. If you have an older model macbook I would recommend getting a new charger from Best Buy.
