I wanted a converter that would allow me to use my personal MacBook Pro power cord (older version) with my new laptop I was issued for school. It works perfectly and solved the problem of running out of battery power when my power cord was at school.

Since Best Buy doesn't sell the MagSafe 2 for the macbook pro's this was the next best thing. Since my old macbook pro konked out, I did have a space MagSafe 1 adapter. This saved me from spending the extra money on a new charger and now I have two!

When my Apple MagSafe 2 charger decided to quit on me, I searched for a replacement. They are not inexpensive. Realizing that I had an older MagSafe charger from my last computer, the adapter was the perfect "fix." Being a tiny little connector, you would think it would be a $5.00 item, but it's not ... it's an Apple product! So, double the cost and there you have it. But, on the bright side, it works, and I didn't have to spend $70-80 on a replacement charger.

We have 3 mag-safe 1 cords, and only 1 mag-safe 2 cord, that my wife recently left behind while traveling. When we returned home, this allowed us to recharge her MacBook Air while we waited for her charger to be shipped back to us.

This product does exactly what it says. It allows you to use an older apple MagSafe charger with any new MagSafe2 apple computer. Great little adapter to have around if you have old apple charges from previous computers sitting around.

We got a new puppy and on day 2 she ate my wife charger. I stumble upon this online while shopping for a new charger. I have an old MacBook Pro with a MagSafe charging cord. This fit and work like it said it would for a fraction of a new cord cost. It is small so I she her losing it, but I can by 7 to the cost of a new cord.

This product is awesome. One thing Apple did to make it easy for the customer is this. A $10 adapter that can convert your old style charger to the new style, making it to where you don't have to spend $70 on a new charger.

When Apple changed the MagSafe connector in 2012, I thought I was going to have to replace all of my older chargers that I keep in various rooms. Luckily, Apple came out with this adapter to solve that issue. Yes, it may be a bit overpriced for what it is, but it is better than buying a new $80 charger. Furthermore, it is easily removable, so if you have multiple chargers to convert, you really only need one of these adapters, as it can be moved. Finally, I thought the new MagSafe chargers had the tendency to come out a little too easily when slightly bumped, but using an older charger with this adapter seemed to mitigate that issue a little bit. This product serves its purpose and is definitely better than buying another charger if you already have an old MacBook charger.

This is a great way to breathe new life into an old macbook charger you have lying around. I used to have to pack my charger up everyday going to and from work but now I can just leave one at home and one at the office.

This product is awesome! I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro and purchased this so that I could continue using the power adaptor that came with my old one. It does what it's supposed to do, and the price is perfect.

Builds a very strong connection to the power connector on the cable and will stick there once you pull the cable off your MacBook. Great little adapter, saved me a lot of money since I could use older Mac power bricks.

Was looking for a more slim line design to be able to take advantage of the angle that the first generation power cord hooks up to the laptop at. While this allows use of the first gen power adapter its spacing of that out away from the machine as far as it does makes it really no different than the power adapter that came with the machine. So I got the angle but gained nothing in trying to keep it hooked up while in my lap.

No complaints. My Thunderbolts display at work has the old power cord, so this one let's me use that power cord on my 2013 MBP. I no longer have to carry the original power cord between home and work!

Simple device that does what it's called. Luckily, I had a couple magsafe chargers when the magsafe 2 got lost. Probably the cheapest 1st party apple item. The only negative thing for me is that because I still use my old macs, I keep the adapter attached to the laptop than the charger, so it is easier to lose when going in and out of my bag. Bought one for home and one for office, just in case. Still cheaper than even a 3rd party charger.

I have an old mac cable at home my computer at work is newer so when I bring the new computer home this little device allows me to use my old cable on my new computer!! great idea!!

This adapter works perfectly. It allows me to use my Mag Safe power supply on my wife's Mag Safe 2 laptop when she is located near my power supply. It is very convenient and handy.

Our dog at our new charger end part but we still has the old Apple one. It was awesome being able to just buy the part that we needed. Works great!

This piece does what I expected and is easy to use. I bought it to be able to charge a 2013 MacBook Air with a 2008 MacBook power cable. It has the same magnetic attachment property as the original chargers.
