I have a very old Apple that I wanted to hook up to a monitor I bought from BestBuy. It works. It's a little short, but does the trick and much easier to view the monitor than the tiny screen on my old Apple laptop. I don't see many people needing this, but it beats squinting. Funny - Apple doesn't ever carry these.

My MacBook fell and the screen went Fractal. I bought this monitor connector and can now use my MacBook as a Desktop Computer. It took some time to connect because I was looking at a laptop broken screen. Once I fished around for the monitor prefs, I then could see the external monitor. Works great.

Its what I needed, works well. not terribly complicated.

My daughter has a Mac purchased in 2008 and no longer serviced by Apple. The screen broke. Best Buy sales associates and Geek Squad were very helpful to us in considering options. We elected to purchase this adapter and a new Samsung display that provided an excellent solution. Since this is older technology it was not available in the store, but I was happy to order it online for store pickup.

Works as expected, no complaints! Simply plug it in and off you go!

Being the proud owner of an older apple, I was unable to plug directly into projection equipment to utilize my power point presentations. Cheaper than a new computer and available by special order (which was hassle-free), within a couple of days I had the adapter in hand and ready for use.

I use my macbook as a laptop and a desktop. When I am at my desk I use it as a desktop. So I needed this part to plug in a VGA monitor. Its great to have both worlds of a laptop and a desktop.

I had to make two trips to get the correct adapter. Make sure your "geek" understands what he is selling you.

Needed for an older Mac, and could not find one that looked like a well made product until I saw this one.

This is a perfect adapter for anyone with a MacBook laptop. Since the MacBook laptops do not come with a VGA or DVI fullsize output this adapter allows you to connect an external monitor or a projector. You can use the monitor to extend the desktop for a much larger working area or just use it as a double display. It can support a 1400x900 resolution monitor. The clarity it produces is great and fast refresh rates are available. With this product the possibilities are endless. For the price you can not get any better. There are also different adapters to connect to regular DVI or to a RCA video or S-video source. Exceptional value for a low price.

The store employee assured me this product was what I needed. It's not.

Upon my decision to break free from the Microsoft world, I decided that I would be using my old 1366x768 VGA monitor for my new Mac Mini. I was a little hesitant on purchasing an expensive premium adapter such as this. I know I've had had problems in the past with 3rd party adapters from various manufactures for multiple devices. I didn't want to risk anything and shoved out the few extra dollars for the Apple brand converter. Set-up was very simple. I unboxed the adapter from the box, screwed my VGA cable from my monitor into the adaptor, plug the smaller end of the adapter into my Mac Mini, and hit the power button on the back side of my Mac Mini. I was up and running in within a few minutes. The adapter cable can be on the shorter end for a larger desk. But no complaints. The adapter displays a clear image upon my 1366x768 VGA monitor. No shadows or interference from my day to day use. All Apple products are high quality even down to basic adapters. I'm sure this adapter will last me for years to come.

This is the accessory you need if you plan to use your MacBook for presenting. The industry standard connection for projectors is VGA, so this is the adapter you need. Very few companies or organizations provide a DVI (digital) hookup, so this VGA adapter will get you hooked up 90% of the time. Even though the image is converted from digital (Mini-DVI) to analog (VGA), the image looks great on a large plasma/LCD/screen. Too bad Apple no longer includes this adapter with their MacBooks, but the price isn't bad and you'll get a lot of use out of it.

The construction of this adapter is poor as it is flimsy and be broken very easily if bent or moved often. It plugs in great and works like it should.

Customer service sold me the wrong adapter the first time, but once I contacted them, they were most helpful. Was happy with the experience and was thankful for a knowledgeable staff willing to help with my situation.
